This is more of a Hermeticish and Hindu view but I see gods as....

The first god and the subsequent gods being created from nothingness, which has many names like primordial chaos, brahman, the drygten, the dao, the universe, etc. This thing would be neutral, all knowing, all powerful, and infinite. Everywhere and everything, good and bad. It can be impersonal and personal.

I see the gods themselves as largely benefiting from positive human emotions. Even some of the more chaotic ones.
I am the Earth, The Sun and the Stars
And I am the also the Moon
I am all animal and birds,
And I am the outcast as well, and the thief
I am the low person of dreadful deeds,
And the great person of excellent deeds
I am Female. I am Male and I am Neuter.
