My dad keeps telling me about all the places he'll show me when we go to Bulgaria. I'd love to see them. I'd also REALLY want to go into the "Womb of the Earth".

I have never been to Bulgaria but I have wanted to visit Kozarnika, a Paleolithic cave with paintings!

I haven't been to the Kozarnika cave to be honest, but that would perhaps be our next destination. The truth is, there are incredible places to visit in Bulgaria, although it's not the best place to live There are many Thracian tombs and sanctuaries that are worth visiting - like this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Valley ... ian_Rulers or Perperikon.

Rila Monastery It's named after st. Ivan of Rila mountain, which is the highest mountain on the Balkan Peninsula. And yes, it's an interesting place to visit. But the Seven lakes of Rila are more interesting if you ask me This is where the White brotherhood gathers (The brotherhood was founded by Petar Dunov, or Beinsa Douno - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Deunov who was a famous spiritual teacher and eventhough he was a Christian, the Orthodox church is calling him a devil incarnate ) and is absolutely amazing.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Rila_Lakes
Anyway, when did you say you are coming? And yes, the only country besides Scotland that has people who play bagpipes is Bulgaria, although ours are quite a bit different. And we also have 2 different kinds of bagpipes - djurah and kabbah whre the kabbah is with lower tone and has this very very specific sound.

I have no idea. My family's in a big transition time the next few years on several levels but it's on my bucket list to do before becoming middle-aged.
