This is cool. I knew the major Inca & Mayan temple layouts were aligned with the solstices & celestial center, but hadn’t been exposed to the practice being widespread in regular habitats. I’ve heard of canals in Central America running beside some major roadways to support canoe & cart trade traffic was pretty well maintained.
