my mom grows it and I think she transplants it. I don't think it's very hard to grow though! i'll ask her when she gets home and give you more details on it though!

Originally I found it potted as a perennial at the neighborhood gardening store, I am in zone 3 and have found it is hearty enough to overwinter here. Since this time, I have grown more of it from seed and from separating the plants, as you can well imagine my shaman/witchy friends all want some in their garden too.

I find it has the cleanest smoke for smudging, makes beautiful smudge wands and doesn't bother my allergies or asthma. Peace!

It's the traditional Native American smudge. So I understand why it smells so great :D I have so many smudge sticks just sitting around, waiting to be gifted and possibly, sold. I love white sage :D

Yeah, one time I planted about 25 kitchen sage seeds and only 3 sprouted.

Good point! The seeds I have used are from the plants in my garden.....I have a huge old washbucket that I place cut bunches of sage in to dry up abit before making wands. The bottom of this washbucket gets full of the seeds. In other words, when I have planted by seeds, I have used an excess of seed cause I have an excess of seed!

Ginger, sage, cloves and mugwort. I would love to plant white sage but I heard it's very hard to grow.

I also use a lot of vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, chili, nettle, witch hazel, chamomile, angelica and St. John's Wort, as well. :)
