Is it ok if I ask about this?

Post by ThunderFog »

I want to ask people's general opinion of dark spirits and demons for the sake of curiosity no spells or rituals or anything just opinions and maybe experiences

Here’s what the rules say -

13. Discussion of certain topics is not allowed. Prohibited discussions include, but are not necessarily limited to, blood drinking, the use of bodily fluids in spells, sex magick, using magic for revenge, using animal parts, invoking demons and evil spirits to do your bidding and other stuff related to dark/black magick or demonology; extreme graphic violence, incitement to violence, prejudicial remarks, obscenity, erotica, pornography, vulgarity and insensitivity to tragedy/death/injury.
*While we understand that you may wish to learn about certain types of magick, even if you don't intend to be involved with them, we don't want to attract certain types of people to our forum by showing up in Internet searches for those keywords. It's our experience that people who are into that sort of stuff usually behave badly and end up banned from the board. Posts containing unacceptable content will be promptly removed. Our moderators have the final say in determining what is unacceptable.

Your question as worded doesn’t exactly violate the rule. Replies will be tough though. What’s your particular interest?

Yea that rule is why I'm asking, I'm not sure if particular interest would be the way to describe it but I'm just curious about peoples experiences, opinions, and views on dark spirits and demons

But no one with actual experience can answer to satisfy random curiosity without violating the rules and getting X’d.

I can say that I have no desire to wander into metaphorical dark alleys of existence - nope. I know spirits exist. I know neutral, helpful and harmful spirits exist. It seems sensible to avoid the harmful ones. Why complicate it?

One experience I’d had during college was when our psychic “circle“ of friends were meeting on a weekend & I couldn’t attend due to illness. I was in bed 100 miles away. I’d dreamt of being chased by a wolf & woke with a painful claw mark on my neck and shoulder that lasted days. A later phone conversation with the group revealed that one of the Circle had invited a werewolf. The guy was in trance and sat up & howled, then passed out. There’s no fix for stupid. One suggestion was that possibly while out of body during sleep - the times matched- I’d Interrupted the werewolf. I’d wanted to be with my friends and wasn’t happy about having to miss the weekend gathering. “Bad dog. You leave my friends alone ... um, oops”

I think what I perceive as flow of hostility that we interpret as presence of something dark is often not a concern of nature, but of attitude you are receiving from certain creature.
I had been in some periods on very good terms with certain poisonous plant... it got darker reaching at me when I offered it little to no sunlight... then I did and it got appeased again... then it got not happy again and I cut it thinking it was hostile all time long and the spirit of plant was infuriated the night after I did it in a very odd way. I think all it needed was sunlight.
RavenClaw mentioned in one topic here that she tests spirits by asking them if they are of "true light" so that they can stay. I think that technically every thing can reply to such question affirmatively because it is just plain ridiculous to differentiate between awareness of existence in such manner. If you want to get theosofical definition that mentions God mentions Sitra Ahra with the definition that both "good" and "evil" come from the same source as complementary forces.
Which leads to Solomonic, or ceremonial magic which if "good" is supposed to work in such fashion that you summon "demons" or perhaps just wild forces... to be afterwards subjugated by angels to work for you.... but the rumours about Solomon said that he was actually aligned with ethereal creatures without distinction. So in such manner if you just avoid "dark" beings what is it that you mine out of this world? It ain't exactly a nice world to live in altogether with all the disease and unnecessary pain that perhaps is merely an outcome of lack of organisation and communication and also of fostering illusionary differentiations to such polarities which become rather ridiculous when you look at the basic needs of every whatever being... which of course is also of predatory aspect... hence why I asked if the nature of element fire was not in conflict with Wiccan rede since it "consumes life to live" and in certain sense thus harm can't be avoided and elemental fire of course can't be put away from the concept of pentagram.

I can't say I understand all of SL said especially cus I have a headache from painting stuff all day but I feel the need to clarify I don't mean light and dark as distinctly good and evil or peaceful and harmful maybe more along the line of feeding from positive and negative energy, I believe that all those things are different but not entirely separate like how something could be considered a dark spirit but isn't hostile or harmful but that might be more based around how you view spirits because I've heard everyone sees spirits differently to a degree?

Either way my belief is that not all light and dark spirits are inherently good or bad.

Well if you grow yourself some field someone likes to eat such as in lyrics of Soul Intruders song by Bruce Dickinson stating "eat but never kill".

Good and bad... some quote I glanced at stated "One's fortune is a misfortune to someone else."
Now imagine you've got complementary forces of binary nature.
I imagine spirits to be like us... there are few basic things we like to do and then there's some casual amusement. I felt through years that many spirits considered 'demons' were rather amused by the rigid intent of do-gooders trying to fight them or chase away. If you have your own glowing space and somehow sovereign position in realms you just have your space like any other animal in nature.

What we do with Green Witchcraft is that we embrace the natural flow which requires reverence and patience to dive deeper in order to connect with forces that dwell in these groves that we so much like to hear tales about.

For me to give this a proper response means I break the appropriately numbered rule 13. I think I can say this. My conclusion from certain experiences...be smart and stay safe. In case you're wondering, it was nothing I did. That's all I can say about this topic.
