I was about to say something about 'slow poison', but then I noticed you're from Australia where spiders actually *are* dangerous sometimes. Around here there are only 2 species of spider that could potentially kill and they are very rare (hobo and black widow). There are a few others, such as the w...

so animal is really tame. It seems that way. I just don't like to make that assumption for other people. She is still a snake. Snakes, like other animals (even kitties), can act without warning. Her bite would hurt less than my cat's, but that doesn't make it better. If they acted dumb because they...

Beautiful, Myst!

Unfortunately I can't get the pictures of the other alters to load on this computer, I'll have to try again at home.

I'm still building mine. I haven't decided the best place to put it yet.

Um... witches burnt in Salem? That didn't happen (if indeed that's what you were implying, if not, then please disregard this). I guess I'm getting my facts mixed up. As far as I knew it wasn't that real witches were actually getting burnt, they were accusing people of being witches then doing 'tes...

A bear? Now that's neat! Just be sure to respect it (not that you wouldn't respect a familiar) because no matter how close we are to them, they are still animals and an angry or offended bear can still be dangerous. I keep having to tell that to people who think me snake is 'tame' just because I'm s...

My Betta just died about a month and a half ago. He was a beautiful Delta Crowntail named Rae. His coloring was pure gold (except for some visible blood vessels near his gills) with a brighter gold strip lining the edge of his tail and dorsal fins. He was very fiesty and proud!

I have an extremely close bond with my cat, Whiskey. (No, not like the bottle... she was named that because she 'whisks' around all the time). She's very protective of me, especially when I'm sick and she always sits with me when I'm in my sanctuary... but she tries to eat my herbs which is a proble...

Some crystals are actually formed by exposure to heat and light.

Amethyst, for example. shouldn't be stored in hot areas or in direct sunlight because the crystals will turn orangey-yellow and effectively transform into a type of citrine.

What I was taught is that a Wiccan will absolutely deny the existance of the Christian version of Satan. This is because the really nasty goat-legged version of him was created as a means to intimidate and convert pagans to christianity at the same time as villifying pagan religions (horned god, pen...

I'm a Taoist Wiccan who was raised Christian and taught science, so this might only kind of make sense. I believe that the world and universe are made of energy. All life is connected to this energy. Since energy and matter can not me made or destroyed, it makes sense to me that when you die your bo...

I don't think that what you were referring to is a spell of harming, but a spell of protection. You would be protecting the innocent intended victim and you would be protecting the rapist from doing it again and again (getting caught is a good thing for people like that). I don't know if you've done...

If only you COULD turn ex boyfriends into toads Yeah that would be fun... then child birth rates would decline severly because sometimes women make a mountain out of a mole hill. But that might be a good thing because I think removing some of my ex-es from the gene pool would be a huge boon to soci...

what is annointing? Annointing (in this case) is when you put a couple drops of essential oil, such as jasmine, onto a candle for purposes of ritual, meditation or simple aromatherapy. The oil and candle are chosen depending on the desired synergistic effect. Annointing is also what is being done d...

Again, not in any real order. 1) Valerian - Helps me sleep 2) Chamomile - good for circulation and monthly cramps 3) Rosemary - revitalizing 4) Sage - Clears and energized my mind 5) Basil - I put it in nearly everything I cook 6) Tomatoes - See basil ;) ...
