Re: Protection symbol

Personally, I'd make a sigil for it. They're easy to create and use, and their accessibility belies some pretty potent magic. In junction with the practical methods of safekeeping your book in a location your father won't likely be snooping around in, doing sigil work with the intention of keeping y...

Re: Protection symbol

Is the idea behind this to keep your father from wanting to open the book should he find it? Or to keep him away from the book/where it is kept in general?

Re: Including different religions in my practice?

If you find it helpful and empowering to your spellcraft to include facets from different belief systems, there's no reason why not as far as I can tell. Generally with magic, if you find something to be useful to you, you use it. Combining like that is the basis of eclectic craft.

Re: Consencration Oil

Consecration is optional, but its used by new agers, magicians, trad witches, and elsewise all to make otherwise mundane tools better aligned with the Craft you intend on working them with, that they will be better suited for your workings and bring results to fruition more reliably. Can't explain t...

Re: Consencration Oil

Hey, good question--for a long time I had wondered over the point of consecration as well, to finally later accept that it is just as it sounds. To consecrate something is to make it sacred or holy...in the craft, it is to dedicate an item/tool to a new purpose, to give it an intentional connection ...

Re: Lughnasadh, coming up!

I hope to be able to do some heavy duty clearing-out and downsizing of personal belongings around that time, to open my space up for the darker portion of the year. Small space with several housemates gets it to feeling tight and cluttered very easily, and I like to transition into the autumn with a...

Re: Mom writes "fanfic" of Harry Potter

I need to sacrifice three virgins instead of the usual one, tonight, to feel all right and well with myself after reading this.

Re: Nitika the spirit?

Thread revival time! I have maintained a cashbook for a few months now. What began as "sure why not" curiosity tipped into a more regular practice after the first working with it, and I figured I'd clear up some of the misunderstanding here. In his instructions, Brand explains that it is N...

Re: What are some of the issues that Pagans face?

Sometimes I feel lonely in it all...those I live with (NOT my family) are very welcoming of my ways, but they don't really share any of my animist beliefs or express any interest beyond intellectual curiosity in my practices. It's fine and we'll, I know, and it's true that there is a lot of practica...

Re: Favorite Protection Sigils?

A very good all-around wellspring of protective force, though, is a regularly maintained ancestral altar in the home. It can be small and inconspicuous, and the benefits of healthy spirit relationships build up over time and follow you wherever you go as well as keep the nasties away from your home ...

Re: Favorite Protection Sigils?

For the home in particular, I use a bindrune of Algiz, Othala, and Eihwaz. On their own these runes are of course possessed of good power, but when combined into a bindrune, the three in particular are the makings for a happy and secure living space.

Re: Diffence between Pagan Witch and Wiccan?

People say a lot of things. Nine times out of ten, if someone is setting hard lines around spiritual practices, they're full of hot air. And also shit. There can be quite a big difference between a pagan practicioner and a Wiccan...or no difference at all. It depends on the individual, their path, a...

Re: Deities other than your matron and patron?

I don't think higher beings are so easy to offend as all that. If you dig deeper, you'll find that Artemis has been historically conflated with Hecate as one face of the Three-in-One, and that they can quite easily both be honored without bringing on some sense of breaking away from an intended focu...
