Re: 3 Things You Don't Use & Why

Don't use: 1. Robes. I used to actually judge them harshly, but I see the utility in the theater of it all now. Still just not my bag. 2. Altar. At least, not in the surface-top sort of way. This might change in the future, I just feel weird about setting something besides an ancestral shrine up whe...

When the narrative falls flat.

So, another thread about the issue of awkward timing for celebrating seasonal sabbaths in the southern hemisphere got me to thinking about an adjacent matter, and I'm very curious to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Concerning the sabbaths typically honored by witchy folk and pagans in the northern h...

Re: Solar eclipse 2017

Hnnngh, I'm pretty excited about this. I'll be going with my roomies down a ways to where we can view it in it's totality, and we've got our eye protection on the way, lol. I'm in the process of making a scrying mirror, and with this sort of event only possible at a new moon, it's that much more pow...

Re: Alternatives to the Wheel of the Year?

Reviving this thread because I'm utterly gobsmacked by what I'm reading here. I've never left the northern hemisphere before, so I can only imagine how bizarre this social phenomenon must be. That being said, I have a very good imagination, and holy craaaap, what a mess! There's racism, there's sexi...

Re: Black Mirror Scrying

With a full moon ripe in the sky tomorrow night, I've got my preparations in line to have a mirror in the making. After a good few nights of moon bathing, it'll be painted to what I sure hope will be glossy black perfection. I like to use the dark and new moon to actually consecrate and charge tools...

Re: Hecate calling me?

Hey there, that's pretty exciting stuff. Hecate is a powerful entity, I can only surmise, for how numerous her devotees are. An underworldly power, she strikes me as somewhat of a darker face to the nurturing, motherly deity figure. In the Greek Magical Papyri, she is invoked before the engagement i...

Re: Someone is killing strays...

Hey, I felt the need to nudge you here with an apology. I was unnecessarily crabby in my first reply---It had been a rough week, and had me typing in my irritated voice. Sorry for that. Cruelty to animals is awful in any instance, and I do hope that this criminal is put to a stop soon. I feel that m...

Re: Ancestral shrine

I have an ancestral tie to Japan, so it made sense! It happens to be my favorite, too... Nippon Kodo is my go-to for their purity of fragrance. This box is of sandalwood.

I'm looking forward to Samhain. I didn't really celebrate it much last year, but I want to make this one special.

Re: What is Your Element

Watery Pisces meets the Fire sign of Aries on the cusp when I was born...together, these elements clash to make steam, which falls under the Air element. This suits me well, and I enjoy the transmutative imagery of it. I'm Air, through and through.

Ancestral shrine

Had to relocate the ancestral shrine from a common area to a more private space to keep on keeping on with it as I'd like. I'm pretty happy with the new arrangement, and the space gives off a more approachable vibe than before.

Re: How can someone be a Christian Witch?

Citing sources such as Gardner and Valiente, who purposefully fused witchcraft and religion into one through Wicca, will of course support the notion that witchcraft is a religion. I am not confusing witchcraft for magic as a whole, and if you'd take a walk over to more traditional craft-oriented co...

Re: Ritual adornment

No robes or anything like that, but I do have an all-white outfit set aside solely for wear during necromancy. I keep it where I keep incense for the same purpose, so it always smells great and putting it all on helps to strengthen my focus.

Not sure how I feel about this forum being used for esoterical doxing...of you want to fling curses at a criminal, vigilante away.

Re: How can someone be a Christian Witch?

I suppose a better way to phrase the question would be "How do Christian practicioners of witchcraft reconcile their lifestyle with their doctrines?" ...But thread topics should be kept concise. Looking back at the first post, this is pretty much what the topic started as; an honest inquir...
