Re: Spell/Ritual Guidance - Seeking a new home

At work right now, so my response will be brief! The rune Othala comes to mind as a worthy symbol for your working, as the rune speaks to matters of family and estate. Gebo, also, as its magic speaks to gifts justly received, and holds connotations of generosity and harmony found through a boon. I l...

Re: Solar Eclipse, August 21, 2017

While I wasn't able to charge my mirror like I wanted during the eclipse, I did manage to tie up a witches ladder. It's now stashed away in a cozy little 'grave' until I feel the need for it.

Re: How can someone be a Christian Witch?

I guess I just don't get it. The above point, I mean. The question of this thread is "How can someone be a Christian witch?" Not, say, "How can someone be a Christian while also being a witch in a religious sense?" One person's definition of witchcraft (in this case, what I'm rea...

Re: What funny/strange things did you believe as a child?

I saw the same Twilight Zone episode, and it had me believing that too for a few years until I actually was in a department store at midnight. I was pretty disappointed. Conversely, I didn't believe in Santa as a child, but I began to into adulthood. Not so much in the literal tangible sense that mo...

A good, clear explanation of a subject so often bogged down by a cloud of woo. A very timely post for me, too!

Re: Chaos Magic forum, anyone?

Not sure how often the staff prowl this edge of the forum, but it looks suspiciously like we might be alone in this. Everything's got it's season, so maybe this place will be up for that shade of wacky magic discussion in time. ;3

Chaos Magic forum, anyone?

The contemporary practice of chaos magic, ala Peter Carroll, is a take on spellcraft that I personally find pretty sweet...and personal taste aside, I think it's very much worthy of inclusion in a place like this where so many folks very new to magic in general come to explore. You typically don't f...

Re: Why did you join wicca?

Rather than right now being a time of notable growth for Wicca (like in the early 2000s), from what I can tell the current motions are towards Traditional Witchcraft paths...which are increasingly populated by dissatisfied former Wiccans in my observations, heh. I've never identified as Wiccan mysel...

Re: Hello [StarryWater]

I feel you, there! Chaos magic is a wildly evolving way of approaching magic (and, by extension, spiritual belief) that I find very liberating. Through my play with it, I'm slowly learning to chill out, kick back, and get high on the understanding that reality truly is what you make of it. Ever hear...

Hello, fascinating stuff! Your approach with the Unseen has a chaos magicky, belief-is-your-greatest-tool feel to it that I find truly welcoming.

Re: Newbie saying Hi!

Hello, welcome! The subforums here have tons of information, and many of the EUTM staff and other members have posted threads as thick as weeds with guidance and tips for spellcraft. I hope you find what you are looking for, and that your venture deeper into magical life is fruitful.

Re: Scrying interpretation help?

Seconding Spirit's idea of word association! Solitary divination results can be so individualistic, it's easy for another's interpretation of your vision to throw you off track...That being said, though, broader symbols like flowers and cauldrons can often carry vibes that lots of folks can agree on...
