Re: Guidance?
You'll find out. I used to look up at the sky and picture a nameless face looking back down at me and would just feel incredible frustration that I didn't have a name or a mythology to connect to it. But I just kept on keeping on until it all fell into place. One day I was in the car and the mountai...

Re: baby help
Forever 21 is selling maternity clothes now. I know it's not gothy by nature, but it's younger clothing and you can make it gothy. Or: Here's a website for goth maternity wear and children's clothing. http://www.punkbabyclothes.net/shop/index.php?cPath=29_45 Don't cave to the Man, sister! (Heh) One ...

Re: Invoking Gods and Goddesses
Spook isn't showing up as the last poster. Testing to see if mine does.
Edit:
Yup.
I was also a little confused by your reply, Asch.

Re: Sacrifice
I agree with Spook that we're alot more squeamish today about death. People performing sacrifices on animals lived a life in which butchering was a normal occurrence. They always had to kill their animals for food and furs, so killing one on occassion for a gift to the gods seems less severe. Also, ...

Re: Native American Spirituality?
The NA community was pretty open in the early sixties in seventies when people began looking into alternative religions. After awhile, though, they realized that the NA spirituality was being misappropriated by people who were taking the sacred rites and beliefs out of the worlview and out of the sp...

*Laughs* I hope it's not oysters and orange juice together! *shudders* When I was pregnant with my boys I craved mostly salts and proteins; steak, eggs. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was craving mostly sweets and fruits; strawberries, pomegranate smoothies. I was alot more hormonal with my ...

Re: Sacrifice
Blood sacrifice; humans, animals. It's usually a controversial topic the generates a lot of discussion, which could be interesting. (I'm not posting in the sense of 'Hey, thinking of trying this out, what are your thoughts on it." ) But...why do you think sacrifice was seen as so powerful...

Alright, I confirmed that you were addressing me and not Traum. (Easy mistake when one is in a rush.) Re: Guidance?
I think I know what you mean. It wasn't the magical aspect that drew me into a pagan path but the potential depth of spirituality and tradition that I felt I lacking in my life. I did the wiccan thing for awhile, which was good for dropping old concepts and embracing new ones (i.e. polytheism), but ...

Re: Becoming pagan/ choosing gods and goddesses
. Remember just a theory but the beauty with "our path" u get to blend theorys and mold them. Were not as rigid as a stick as other religions. That's not entirely true. There are several pagan paths that are reconstructionists- they stick to one path, the earlier beliefs of that path, and...

Re: Becoming pagan/ choosing gods and goddesses
Best advice I can think of is to KEEP researching :) There are as many 'flavors' of pagans as there are pagans. Keep searching until you find what resonates with you. Ask questions, search websites, raid your library and used bookstores, ask more questions, find an herbal/pagan shop, ask more quest...
