Spirit Spouses
(I wasn't really sure which forum to put this in, so feel free to move it.) A spirit has recently identified herself (in trancework) as my spirit wife. Since then, another spirit performed a sort of wedding ceremony for us (again in trance). I find myself totally unprepared with this unexpected deve...

Re: Sun, Moon, Rising?
I'd imagine that it has a lot to do with the commercialization of astrology, packaged in such a way as to be easily consumed by people with little to no interest in the occult, or even in actual astrology.

Re: Sun, Moon, Rising?
The sun represents your conscious mind. Your sun sign indicates your primary mode of consciousness, the basic way in which you experience waking life. Your moon sign represents the unconscious. It indicates aspects of yourself that are fundamental, but that you may not be aware of. This is is also r...

Re: Calling upon animal spirits.
I think it's worth pointing out that the terminology here is not universal, and meaning will vary depending on whom you ask. In the lineage I've learned from, "power animal", "animal totem", and "animal [sic] guide" would all be used pretty interchangeably (although the...

Re: Can a Deity get upset?
Something along these lines was the first thing that came to mind for me. It might be worthwhile to do some trancework to try and contact Sparrow and she if she has a message for you.Bychan Wulf wrote: 3) Sparrows present themselves as my totem

Re: Don't Insult Aphrodite!
It is true the Greek Gods and Goddesses are capricious and take offence as is evident by stories and myths. No doubt about that. When I feel I have done something wrong, I dedicate a candle to my deity. I carve symbols representing my deity or I write their name. I then light the candle every night...

Re: Spouse possible cheating, Truth or Revealing Spell?
If you already feel it or sense this in your gut, you are probably right. While going by this can sometimes ring true, it can also fuel paranoia. If there's no real reason to mistrust your partner, a gut feeling that you should is nothing more than the passing nonsense that floats through our heads...

Re: Yule celebration
My family and I did our Solstice celebration earlier to-night. We turn off all the lights in the house, put a tea light in each room in the house; and then, after I say a few words about the darkness and the return of the light, etc, we light a big candle. Then, one of us (my wife) goes from room to...

Re: What are your (animal) spirit guides?
Oh hey! I guess I forgot to update about that. Well.. there was still a celebration, but the main event, so to speak - the screening of the live feed of the 'alala release - didn't happen. I guess they were having some sort of trouble with the tracking devices that the crows wear, so they postponed ...

Re: What Do You Think of the Annunaki?
Sorry to rock the boat, but there's something about this whole thread that I find distasteful. Is it so hard to believe that these deities are just that - gods and goddesses (either "real" or invented) that were a fundamental part of a past culture's spiritual life? I would think that paga...

Re: What's the Point of it All?
Does it really matter what is or is not 'verifiable'? Many, indeed, have seen an inherent part of the spiritual journey to be an abandonment of what the Surrealist Andre Breton called "this cancer of the mind which consists of thinking all too sadly that certain things 'are' while others, which...

I've had/have these experiences. Take caution, though; in the words of Joseph Campbell, “The psychotic drowns in the same waters in which the mystic swims with delight”.

Re: Ravens and Crows
The Hawaiian crow ( Corvus hawaiiensis ) is known in Hawaiian as ʻalalā. The bird plays a role in traditional Hawaiian religion. They were some Hawaiians' ʻaumakua (familial gods). If an ʻalalā was seen or heard upon entering a place, this was seen as a warning sign to not continue on. ʻAlalā are as...

I picked up some obsidian the other day, and have been carrying it around, party due to having been inspired by this thread.
