Re: The Green Fairy, Absinthe
I feel like ginger might be good for the spicy component - not only flavorwise, but as a safety measure to prevent vomiting from drinking too much high proof alcohol! :wink2:

Your altar looks amazing, Invidia! What a phenomenally inventive idea! I love it! Roswell is a good name for a pet, too.

Re: Marijuana and Wiccans
I'm not sure if this has been brought up in this thread, but it's worth mentioning that in my experience (and I've heard others say this as well), consuming cannabis can, under certain circumstances, leave you open to psychic attacks. This is probably the main reason that I stopped smoking it origin...

Re: Wands Not Just for Harry Potter Fans
Honestly, if this were in the United States, I would say that yes, everyone has the right to buy whatever toy they want that is available on the open market, even if the maker doesn't see it as a toy. If I went into Barns and Nobel and wanted to buy a Bible, it would be absurd for the manager to as...

Re: Wands Not Just for Harry Potter Fans
So what about real witches who are also Harry Potter fans? Well he does acknowledge that he actually enjoys Harry Potter as fiction, but is just making a distinction between people who are just there as fans of the franchise vs practitioners of magic. I do question is claimed ability to spot a Harr...

Wands Not Just for Harry Potter Fans
Interesting story; forgive the overly simplistic/borderline offensive journalism:

Re: Charging a Sacrament
I used this one on occasion: chanting it for a good portion of time beforehand. OM SHIVA SHANKARA HARI HARI GANJA (Source https://ajahdharma.wordpress.com/ajah/the-sacrament-ganja/) Isn't Shiva usually invoked as Hara? I thought Hari a name for Vishnu. I rarely consume cannabis anymore, but I used ...

Charging a Sacrament
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has tips on constructing a ritual for charging a sacrament - that is, asking a deity to bless something that is to be consumed, perhaps something mind-altering (e.g. wine, et al), and charging the charging it with that deities energy, with the intention of consumin...

Re: Marijuana and Wiccans
As long as humans exist, there will always be a war on drugs. I strongly disagree. Our current "war on drugs" is an extremely new development, historically speaking. Moreover the war on drugs is a product of capitalism, and capitalism inherently has a shelf-life. But even within the curre...

Aphrodite Altar
This is just a quick little post to show off my Aphrodite altar. To be fair, doesn't look like much of an altar right now. I do have a main altar (I may post a picture of it in another thread at some point in the future, but it needs cleaning right now), but it's crowded and when I was setting up a ...

Re: Bees please!
Very exciting! Congratulations! Bees are the bee's knees!
We have a mint plant in front of our house, and there are always a ton out there, mostly honeybees, but a good number of bumblebees as well. I'd love to take up beekeeping.
I wish you well in your venture! Post photos!

Don't Insult Aphrodite!
I thought I'd share a brief anecdote about something that happened to me recently: Over this last weekend, my wife got a spur of the moment tattoo - her first - and it was of the Venus symbol. Inspired by this, and having wanted for quite a while to get a statue of Aphrodite, I called my local occul...

Centranthus ruber Information
There are a bunch of flowers growing in front my house that I think I have identified as Centranthus ruber, known as red valerian or Jupiter's beard. I've detected a lot of fae activity around the flowers. I can't seem to find any information on magical properties of this plant. Any insight?
