I am thankful for those with the courage to rise up against oppression.

Re: Today I am Grateful For...

I'm grateful for finding my first amanita muscaria mushrooms, completely by accident! I've wanted to find amanitas for so long! I'm also grateful for Wedgwood Rock, and for being able to share my life with my amazing daughter.

Re: Spirits, astral projecting, demons and protection from t

The best means of defense against malicious spiritual entities, in my opinion, is to be in touch with your spiritual allies - spirit guides, power animals, patron deities, etc. You have more forces that want to have your back than you will ever realize. There are myriad ways to connect to these bene...

Re: Atticus

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and messages. They are appreciated.

Atticus is to be cremated, and we plan to scatter his ashes over my grandmother's grave this coming April, on her birthday.

Atticus

(This post is about a deceased pet. I wasn't sure if I should put it in this forum or the animal forum; feel free to move it if you need to). My dear cat friend Atticus died to-day. I got the news earlier to-day that he was dying, and caught the next flight down to California to be there when he was...

Re: Moths and Spirituality

I'm glad that you enjoyed the song! Since I posted it, I've been listening to it a lot myself. I actually had an experience of a loved one dying to-day, and afterwards there were a lot of moths flitting about, so the song seemed especially relevant. Do you think the spiders turned into moths, or wer...

Hey, Corvidus, that's not bad. :fairy: Did you get that from somewhere, or make it up on the spot?

Happy Equinox, all!

Not entirely sure what I'm going to do with the day. Probably an improvised ritual, maybe a walk with the family through the woods (the Washington Park Arboretum). We'll see.

Re: Moths and Spirituality

So, after I made that post last night, I listened to the song I posted, and then I fell asleep to some random movie on TV, at maybe 2 AM ish. I woke up a little bit before 4 AM from a very vivid dream, and I thought I'd share it here. Taken from my dream journal: I smoke some weed and get high. I go...

Re: Moths and Spirituality

Moths have always been a powerful symbol for me. To me they are mystery and magic and ineffable messages. I need to collect my thoughts and come back to this thread. I will, however, leave this song here. It's called Cosmia (which is a genus of moths) and is by Joanna Newsom. Here are the lyrics. Be...

Re: To Honor Plant Spirits at Previous Home?

I've had similar experiences of the poignancy of change when saying farewell to old nature spirits. My way of saying goodbye is to leave offerings (usually tobacco) smudge, and generally just spend some final moments with the plants and even literally say "goodbye". However, since you say ...

Re: Ahhhh. Mabon.

Not Mabon-related per se , but since the harvest moon was to-night*, we harvest mint from the front yard here, and made mojitos. *Here in Seattle, the full moon is to-morrow at around noonish. In such a circumstance, I think it could be argued that the night of the full moon could be celebrated on e...

Re: The Green Fairy, Absinthe

I've also only smoked it. Worst experience I've ever had at the time with entheogens. Looking back on it now, it was exactly what needed to happen in order to open up my mind. Yeah, the small handful of times that I'm smoked it, it was always hellishly dysphoric and overwhelmingly chaotic. Even at ...

Re: The Green Fairy, Absinthe

a friend of mine says setting it on fire causes too much of a harshness amd can be insulting to the spirit of the plant if not done properly. This is 100% true. The Mazatecs shamans who traditionally use salvia d. (or ska Maria pastora, as they call her) believe that lighting it on fire is extremel...

Re: The Green Fairy, Absinthe

Salvia divinorum generally doesn't make you trip when consumed as an infusion; you have to chew the leaves or smoke am extraction.
