Re: Who Reached Out To Me?
She sounds like Bastet or Sekhmet, of the Egyptian pantheon. They are both cat goddesses. That, or she may be Freya. Freya is a Norse Goddess closely associated with cats. She also has a magical necklace, which may be the "gold embroidery" you saw. Either way I encourage you to continue se...

Bluejays and Mockingbirds--symbolism?
Recently in dreams, during meditation, and during uti-seta (a Norse practice, basically a kind of spirit journey while meditating outside in the wilderness) I've been seeing two particular birds over and over again--mockingbirds and blue-jays. In one dream a blue jay the size of a hawk sat on my sho...

Re: WHo could my goddess be?
My first iinstinct is to say she looks like Sif or Freyja. But I worship in the Norse pantheon, so that WOULD be my view. Try to contact the spirit. It sounds like any number of woodland/nature goddesses.

Re: Is it considered bad to worship God as a female instead?
I don't think it's a bad thing at all, even with a Christian god. Recently I've been reading "Lost Christianities: The Battles For Scripture and the Faiths We Never Knew," by Bart D. Ehrman. The female aspect of God is something that has been ignored and suppressed over the centuries. I hi...

Re: Parsley Herb Lore
No problem! Whenever I go camping or hiking I always carry some fresh or dried in my pocket, just in case. I was so happy I learned about that bit of folklore. It's interesting how the herb is so connected with life, death, and salvation in so many different cultures. I use it probably more than any...

Re: Prozac and Dreaming-help?
I was on Paxil, briefly, for a bout of PTSD and depression. It helped, but I experienced what I referred to as "sci-fi reality dreams." They were rather entertaining, but definitely not restful. Frosty I definitely know what you mean by "sci-fi reality dreams." It's all action-p...

Prozac and Dreaming-help?
I experienced the sudden, unexpected death of my lover, about 3 months ago. Sorry to thrust that on you all, but it's necessary to understand the context of this post. Because of the incident, I've been on Prozac for the last several months. I have also been experiencing vivid, hallucinatory, almost...

Re: The Natural Born Witch Question
This is a great question, one I've had reason to consider for quite a long time. I have actual witchcraft practitioners in my family (my Nana was a Strega) so it's something that has lingered in my mind for awhile. I love the background you provided--very thorough! I think I need to marinate more on...

Re: Cerealia - April festival
Thank you for the info on this. My dad's side of the family is full-blooded Italian, so I love reading about Roman gods. As for the way the festival was celebrated in the past....as a historian, I can tell you this: if you try to frame the actions of your ancestors in a modern light, they WILL look ...

Re: Please help me identify these crystals: thank you
A lot of these are too dark to tell, but I'll give a few of them a shot. The third crystal on the right of the first row looks like rose quartz, as does DSC04750 and the two stones in DSC04743. The first picture on the third row is hematite. DSC04759 is most likely a carnelian. DSC04752 is a dalmati...
