Re: Nyx The Goddess Of Night: your opinion?

I love Nyx, I felt attracted to her in my younger days. I never worked with her, but I guess it's time to change that, eh? Also, I love her role in the video game Persona 3, pick it up if you play games. It's one of my favorite rpgs.

Re: Honoring Lilith

If you're going for the more academic route than spirits of Mesopotamia have good and bad sides, we just don't know what Lilitu/Lilith's is in that sense. I don't see her as completely evil, nor do I think that about related figures such as Samael and Naamah. I have actually benefited from working w...

Re: How can someone be a Christian Witch?

If anyone out there is a practicing Christian Witch, how do you do it? From what I understand, the Bible teaches "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live" (meaning all witches and practitioners of the Old Religion should be put to death)...and also I believe a great deal of the manner in wh...

Re: A Christian. A Wiccan. Can I be both?

Just to say "folk" Wicca, the non-initiated type, and folk Catholicism, things such as Santa Muerte and brujeria use similar origins. As does trad Wicca, and many trad Wiccans incorporate a lot of kabbalah and Judeo-Christian stuff. Besides, there is evidence a few pagan religions survived...

Re: Jesus Worshipped the Earthly Mother

Had to look this up . The were a radical sect of Judaism and focused on aestheticism practices. Mostly, they excluded women. They sound a lot like early Buddhist monks. The reason they are not part of the bible, was that they seem to isolate themselves from everyone else and some of the works were ...

Re: Witchcraft Isn't Like Harry Potter

While I feel in general most magick is not like it is portrayed in most fiction, I do think when you do dream working in the other world these laws do not apply so much. What I mean is when working in your dreams, you can do those impossible stints for a few reasons. Such as the other worldly laws a...

Re: Paganism: When There Aren't Any Gods

This is a great post for people being introduced to paganism. I know quite a few secular witches and spiritual atheists, so it's nice to see that these are to be addressed. I also like the four types of paganism categories, because it reminds me of studying religion which many of these things can be...

Re: Some Helios help?

I would try to get some sunrise rituals out, maybe sunrise meditations with Helios when everyone is asleep at your house. If I were you, I would find an outdoor spot, somewhere private, to make a temporary shrine whenever you need to do your rituals. (Woods, a park, something.)

Re: Is Lilith a Goddess or a demon?

I apologize in advance, been really busy with the holidays and such. I have made a few articles and some I am still continuing on Lilith. The ancient origins article I made is found here . Jewish folklore and Kabbalah here . I split the articles because there is so much to read on the subject of Lil...

Re: Is Lilith a Goddess or a demon?

Yeah, the 3 main books are the Hebrew Goddess by Patai which covers Lilith fairly well especially, anciently, Lilith: The First Eve by Hurwitz who goes into a lot of detail, he also covers some psychological interpretations, and Lilith's Cave: Jewish tales of the supernatural which is Jewish ghost s...

Re: Is Lilith a Goddess or a demon?

Lilith is not a "demon" in the sense of the word. But she was regarded as a malevolent owl woman and name for a class of spirits called Lilitu in ancient Mesopotamia. <Babylon and Sumer> Lilitu is pre-Abrahamic. She was minor. She was not a goddess, and the first figure to appear of her cl...
