Re: Malachite Jewelry?
In the polished and the rough (solid) form it is safe to handle. when grinding and polishing you do want to wear a respirator. If the rough is real crumbly, it wouldn't hurt to wash your hands after handling it. this holds true for any of the copper based minerals (malachite, azurite, chryscolla, et...

Much better pic, looks a lot more like tigereye!
Keep an eye out for rock shows in your area. they are a great place to find something different.

Re: My Starters
First of all, you have the right idea in choosing your stones. Go for what calls to you or "feels right" at the time. You can look up in the books what a stone is supposed to do, but they know what you need! I have a couple questions about the first two: On the tigereye, does it have an &q...

Sakura, I know you are a Midwestern lady, and on 9/24/16 there is a Pagan Pride Day in Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis. I think it would be a hoot for you to get your friend and go to the park. just have fun reading people and the objects they have handled. This will be an environment of open mind...

We are much richer for them visiting us while we are on our journey. The gifts they give us are well worth the pain of the parting.
Blessings to you Sakura, and welcome back!

Re: So I've been gone for a while, but I'm back!
Hi! I'm back for good now, I think. I tried Christianity, but I can't feel it, I can't align with it. So I'm back with what I'm comfortable with. And I have to start completely over, since my BOS is gone. I think I might stick with Wicca, its the religion that has always made me the happiest. I don...

Re: Can a stone call to a person?
Took two friends who are new to crystals To the "rock shop" last Saturday. They are both just starting to learn about the energies. It was very entertaining watching them going through 55 gallon barrels of rock/ stone/ crystals, and listening to their reactions!

True, but it is a whole lot of fun when you have a lot of them doing it at the same time!SpiritTalker wrote:It's one thing when they jump into your hand "me-me", and another when they flash lights at you.

Not all of one type of stone will call to you, and every now and then something you are expecting will shout out "HELLO!)

With the first egg, I'd say that serpentine is your best bet. The second egg looks like white onyx, based on the banding. similar to the material that is sometimes used in trophy bases. Both of the spheres could be just about anything. Might be able to ID them if seen in person. The heart dish/ cand...

I have to say that your venting has always been intelligent and intelligible. You haven't just whined, you've used your venting productively. Snow What she said! You have put up with more than I ever could have, and yet did more good than I would have been able! Kid, my hat is off to you, and I am ...

You're on the right track! The books are a good tool to guide you, but they are no substitute for handling them and "feeling" them. I have my "Go To" stones when I need that little bit of extra "mojo", and this group changes with time. A lot depends on who's been cleans...
