I don't know what the going rate is for pet sitting, I myself would accept what the lady can give to have someone she trusts to take care of her dog when she cannot. It is very kind of you to offer her help, I don't think that we have to accept $ every time we do someone a favor.

For defuseability, please be careful letting your cat play with plants, they can be toxic and poisonous to them, hang the plants from the ceiling so they cannot be reached.
