Re: Breaking a spell

On a practical note, to those who keep books, there are pencils and erasers ... just sayin ... Myself, my "book of shadows" is a bit like Columbos pockets - a big pile of assorted scribbled ramblings - its all rattling about upstairs anyway I guess, those that I haven't obscured within poe...

Re: Breaking a spell

I don't know, maybe I just work better with a deadline...? ^^" Please don't make me blush... Writing in French is much easier for me, but I feel like English fits well for magic. I should probably try both. Perhaps it's just that I associate French with my everyday life, and it feels weird usi...

Re: Atheist witch?

I actually don't believe in the supernatural - something beyond nature, I believe nature encapsulates everything including that which might be labeled "supernatural"; on the border of the realm of our understanding, beyond our current ability to understand or classify. So beyond scientific...

Re: Spell for tackling boring tasks

Just make a game out if it - worked for mary poppins. When my son was an infant we used to play a game called pairing socks - every time one of us reunited a pair in his sock draw you held them up and paired them ... every pair found the other person would shout out - YOU WIN! Silly I know - being s...

Re: Reincarnation and Samhain

In Eastern religions, reincarnation isn't an end goal or just an explanation. You have to break the cycle of reincarnation. As people said before not everyone reincarntes right away nor does everyone want to. Wiccans also believe in afterlives such as summerland. (More blue sky thinking) Interestin...

Summers End

Summers End Jenny sat below the shadows of the old bluff, beyond the scrub, lying hidden by the dunes and settled in, mutely watching Lily; watching the sea. It was a warm night with the gentlest of breezes and the common coastal fog, usually deep and rich at night, rolled off the sea, a little mis...

Re: Reincarnation and Samhain

Since Wiccans believe in reincarnation, why is Samhain a time where the veil between the living and the dead is the thinnes? I mean, that would mean that ghostly freely roam our plane, but if all spirits reincarnated, where are those spirits coming from? (Personal thoughts only) From a different pe...

Re: Memory removal

How could one reduce PTSD symptoms without the use of Big Pharma "band-aids?" A certain spell or ritual? There are some memories I would gladly repress and lock away! Not a good idea for the previously mentioned reasons - process them, come to terms with them, learn from them and proceed....

Re: Rich Dark Beautiful Heathen/Pagan tunes

I don't know how to do youtube links ... Suffice to say I would like to start the night listening to "All Souls Night" by Loreena McKennitt ... yet end it with the cover version by Abonos. goodnevil ------- " ... Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides. Figures dance around and around to d...

Re: Memory removal

I realize the memory may be in there but it's the retrieval that can seem impossible. And then I guess there is disassociation... (Personal thoughts) Retrieval is possible provided you start listening to the language and prompts of the unconscious. Many techniques exist. It is integral to shadow-wo...

Re: Memory removal

Trauma tends to be a good memory remover :annoyed: Trauma causing the repression of memories pushes them into the subconscious; you don't really forget them - while you may not be conscious of them they will still resurface and have effect on the conscious (usually in fairly unpleasent and unpredic...

Re: Identify Strange Wing?

Besides degree of maturity, dragonflies, being a genralised term, also come in a variety shapes and sizes. I will say the wings never seem to look the same on a dead dragonfly to a live dragonfly - they take on a shiney, "plasiticy" appearence - perhaps because they are no longer under ten...

The general adopted eastern concept of Karma has been really badly repackaged in the west as Karmic retribution.

Re: Devotional Offerings, how often?

(Personal thoughts) Easiest to consider by putting a different slant on the question. Devotion is the key word. There are different reasons for buying my wife flowers or gifts - how often do I do it? Do I feel obliged to do it or because I wish to express love? Express gratitude? Express thanks? Apo...
