Re: Science and Spirituality

Absolutely agree on what science is and isn't, especially in the paranormal field. In the 70's i studied with a medium that wanted to establish some kind of repeatable testing. She and the Bell Lab scientist she worked with were using a standard lie detector to record each of the spirits she worked ...

Re: Curses/ hexes/ bad stuff

Just an FYI, my doctor told me that clinical depression comes in roughly 7 year cycles and then he outlined my life so accurately I was flabbergasted since it was our 1st meeting. that was a good way for him to make a believer out of me, like any good showman knows. In the depths of my bad times it ...

Re: The books you couldn't live without!

Among Craft books I've held on to over 40+ years are M. Medici's Good Magic which is not Wiccan yet is my personal favorite. Treading the Mill by Nigel Pearson as a good cross-over between Wicca & Trad-Craft, and Lady Sheba’s Grimoire by Jessie Belle.

Re: What kind of table to use for altar?

I've used a 14" square, three tiered kitchen cart with a small drawer. It is 38" tall, on wheels. I believe it is made of pressed bamboo which normally is not a wood I like. You use what you can get. I store my stuff in covered baskets underneath on the 3 shelves, and any extra bargain-day candle su...

Re: About my soul

sometimes it seems that family is there to knock the warts off us. Re: my path...My sister would get it, my dad maybe, mom...no way. Each fought their own battles and survived to share what wisdom was theirs to pass on. sometimes they were in a world of hurt and needed space, respect and obedience j...

Re: what effect does the moon have

I'm one of those who can't sleep during full moons (gnashing of teeth), and my menstrual cycle was tied to the moon cycles, until menopause. many people garden by the moon which is a whole study in itself. Just like the gravity of the moon impacts ocean tides, it affects water levels in plants and o...

Re: Mood Moon Interactive Chart

I think it's a good idea and wish I had a printer. I know my moods are cyclical from other forms of tracking I've done. I called it my Moon bowl, and put a pebble in the bowl at New Moon, then added one each day as the moon waxed, and took one away as it waned. I did this for a full year to teach my...

I really wanted to use a fountain pen, but every one I tried dried out, clogged, were a pain. At an office supply store I found Pilot Varsity disposable fountain pens, black, blue, red, green, purple and turquoise. Write clean and smooth, last ages. Hot diggity dog. My best BOS looks like an old Bib...

I think the things that come to us when we're doing something else are the most meaningful ones, and surely the most fun. It is a delight to think"oh, yeh. the Universe was listening after all." I call it the Shopping Fairy Effect :fairy:

Re: Spells, Rituals and Casting.

Unless you are coven-bound, circles are not something we must do. They shouldn't get in the way of our work, but support it. Circles hold the energy we raise until we release it & serve as a barrier to keep out stray energy. If those aren’t concerns then no circle is needed. . The simplest circle is...

Re: should you uncurse someone who cursed themselves?

Sometimes helping is just enabling. The woman believes she has no resources so she continually proves it to herself. She has to see her own role in her lack of resources. A general spell to assist her eye opening may be appropriate. Has she asked for help? Has anyone told her she is a nuisance?

jaybirdblue, yes, I think talking to your guides is very helpful, even if you haven't met them, or don't hear them. It's best to do it from a grounded and centered state. Grounding and centering are essential and we should be able to accomplish that state while standing on one leg at the grocery che...

Re: What's your most memorable encounter

For me, it's the ones that leave physical evidence. the first time I stayed overnight at my friend Ks house, I had a cot in her room next to her bed. she never told me about the ghost. I woke during the night and saw a young man by her bookshelf, removing the books. I assumed it was her brother. Whe...

Re: Sensing the spirit of trees

When I was 6, I had a favorite elm tree on the school playground. I'd play around it, tell it kid things. When I was in my mid 30's, I was making an important change in my life and was just drawn back to that same tree on the old playground. I put my hands on the trunk and it felt like, well, like i...
