Re: Feeling like a fake and just down in the dumps.

She has told me before that she believes that people who worship ancient deities are stupid because no one from their own culture worships them anymore. Well, she's actually not correct when she says that. For example, there are Greek people, living in Greece, who have set up Greek recconstructioni...

Re: Overwhelmed and new

So..for help writing spells or where i get a book of spells that isn't fake..? I know amazon sells some but how do I determine what is real and what is fake? Spells aren't really real or fake like that. Basically, a spell is done by raising energy and focusing it toward a goal. The words said, prop...

Re: Myrrh/ Patchouli incense substitution

You could also use frankincense, sage, rosemary, sandalwood, rose... Really, almost any incense will do, and there are many ways to consecrate a tool, some ways don't call for incense at all.

Siona's Free Books!

So I have a lot of books that I don't really ever use anymore. They're not bad books, but a lot of them just aren't relevant to my current practice, and I'd much rather see them go to someone who'll read them instead of have them sit around getting dusty. (Plus, frees up some shelf space for new boo...

Re: How will you celebrate Lammas?

Definitely going to be baking some bread for Lammas, a few loaves for the family, and one to give as an offering in my ritual. Just have a small ritual in honor of Hestia and Demeter planned. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to have a small ritual fire outside, but I think it's going to be ...

Re: How did you choose your Pantheon?

I'm wondering, when choosing which deity to work with, how did you choose which pantheon to choose from? Also, how did you choose which god and goddess within that pantheon? So way back when I first started studying paganism, the first deities I ever had any interest in were Greek. I set up altars ...

Re: Fall/Equinox/Mabon/Samhain

To offer another perspective... Lammas is the start of the three harvest festivals, but Mabon is really the peak of the harvest season, and it's a time to give thanks for the food that sustains us, and really it's a good time to give thanks in general for all the good things we have. It's a time to ...

Re: Inconspicuous Lammas Celebration

I live in southeastern USA so I can trek through the woods/ forest and find wild blackberries. They are usually much larger and sweeter too. Even better! :) I like to go looking for wild blueberries here since they're pretty different from the store and farm varieties, they're usually ripe before L...

Re: Inconspicuous Lammas Celebration

As others have mentioned, baking bread is a great Lammas activity. I like to make a bread that requires a bit of kneading, time to rise, and so on, rather than a quick bread - I use that time to meditate a bit on the whole cycle of planting a seed into the earth, it growing and being nurtured by the...

Re: Could Hekate be my matron goddess?

I think if Hekate is the first who jumps to mind for you, then that is probably a good place to start! :) However, there are a few more possibilities you might want to consider, as well. For example, it's possible that the cats might be coming to act as spirit guides, without being related to a deit...
