It's okay! You'll get back to the other space-time continuum next Daylights Savings Time!

Re: House cleansing and protections

I wrote a house cleansing ritual a while ago; it's what I use regularly!

Re: Technowitchcraft / technopaganism

I've seen some people use memes as a form of magic. Not always for good intents. Some Internet-created egregores have (arguably) come to life. And, like Spirit said, some emotional chain reactions have impact on the real world. The Internet is a hive mind, but of a very fickle sort.

Re: Dance

What a lovely idea! I also have really made (belly) dance my main channel for my spirituality. The first thing that I think about is costuming -- for belly dance, it's easy to incorporate all kinds of stones and special jewelry into one's costume.

Re: How do you all feel about karmic spells.

Healing is extremely difficult when you're still in contact with your abuser. If it's not possible to go "no contact", which is the ideal solution, then it's really important to sever your energetic bond with the abuser, which in my mind is one of the best ways to get your revenge, while also protec...

Re: Technowitchcraft / technopaganism

I'm surprised no one's posted on it yet -- what an interesting topic! I remember reading some very dated books (at this point, anyways) about "cyber witchcraft", which was mostly like, "Spells to enchant your floppy disks!" There really isn't much out there at the moment. Certainly electronics are p...

Re: Alphabets

The runic alphabets are also fairly commonly used by witches. Elder Futhark is a great one to begin with.

Re: symptoms after casting

Hi Aceso, it is pretty common to experience similar symptoms after spell-casting; it usually just indicates the need for some more grounding and centering exercises. You've built up a lot of energy with a pretty powerful spell, it sounds like, and now you still have the leftover energy buzzing aroun...

Re: saliva and others...

For what it's worth, there are forum rules that prohibit the discussion of bodily fluids. I find saliva, hair, and nail clippings to be fairly innocuous, so I'm going to allow this discussion for the time being so long as: 1) the topic doesn't go into procuring OTHER people's saliva, hair, and nail ...

Re: Putting the soul of a dead person into a necklace/talism

Hmm, honestly that seems a bit disrespectful to the deceased. Most ancestor veneration practices do involve seeking guidance from the dead, but they do that by making offerings and showing respect, rather than binding them to serve you. With any invocation of the gods, spirits, or ancestors, one sho...

Re: Shamanic dance

I've also become very interested in shamanic/ecstatic dance (I've been doing a lot of belly dance & Middle Easter dance recently). Here's a very cool example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMW73DfVWkw This is a theatrical performance of the Zaar ritual in North Africa; it is a women's dance meant ...

Re: Agnostics

I considered myself agnostic before I became a Pagan. Many people had tried to convert me to Christianity (I grew up in the Bible Belt), but I just couldn't buy the evidence for the Christian God. Even after I found Paganism, I was still agnostic on the existence of the gods (hence my post on non-th...

Re: Why Do you Do Magic?

What a great conversation topic, SpiritTalker! Thanks for getting it started! Two reasons I can think of: 1) Magic connects me to my spiritual self and aligns me with my values and purpose. 2) Magic adds the extra "oomph" to everything I do. It's not a substitute for taking mundane actions, but it d...
