Re: Wicca Survey - I need your opinion

Responded to your survey. If you could post a link to your final result whenever you finish, that'd be phenomenal. No hurry, of course! Thanks!

Re: ~Happy Samhain~

Happy Samhain everyone! And my thoughts go out to those who are on the East Coast recovering from Sandy.

Re: Samhain

Thanks Raynelae! Yeah, I'll probably spend some of my weekend preparing for the storm. Because it's so near the full moon, I'm going to be making moon cakes for blessings and sharing them with my friends during Samhain itself when I have them over for a Halloween party.

Re: Samhain

So unfortunately Hurricane Sandy (a.k.a. Frankenstorm) is hitting the East Coast, so I expect that'll ruin a lot of trick or treating plans and outdoor rituals for pretty much that whole week.

Re: confused about what gender I want to be... Help?

Well - not to tell you about what gender identity to be, but gender isn't just male/female. Many of my friends identify as genderqueer, which is basically an umbrella term for a gender that doesn't fit neatly into male/female, and means whatever you want it to be, and expressed however you want to e...

Re: Witchcraft is Witchcraft and Wicca is Wicca

I'm not personally Christian or Christian Wicca, and I see your point when it comes to the contradictory beliefs of both, but it seems to me that it's not really a problem when it comes to personal identification. I knew someone who believed in reincarnation but still identified as Catholic, which I...

Re: Telling super Catholic Parents

Dear Fox, Having grown up in a very Christian conservative community and listening to Christian doctrine all the time without being Christian myself, I think I know how it feels. Here's my two cents (although of course I wouldn't know if it'd work in your situation without more details): If you are ...

No problem! I can't seem to find it on the EUTM website; can you post the link? Thanks!

Re: Xian??

A quick web search seems to indicate that Xian is an abbreviation for Christian (X is short for Christ, much like X-mas).

Re: Ritual for Samhain

Also I didn't write the chants for when you cast the circle; I don't remember where I found it but I thought they were very profound so I adopted them. If anyone knows the original source and could point them to me, that'd be very welcome.

Re: Ritual for Samhain

Actually, I recently created this ritual for my friend, who passed away a few months ago. To put this in context, my family is Chinese-American, and some of my family members do practice ancestor worship. One thing we do is burn offerings for our ancestors (the idea being the smoke reaches them in t...

Re: Your Most Magical Experience

I know I'm still new, but here's mine: Recently a friend of mine passed away, and she was the first person whom I've ever been close to who died. I felt like it would be appropriate to honor her in some way. My family is Chinese-American, and one of our traditions involves ancestor worship, and I mo...

Your Most Magical Experience

Hey everyone, I'm curious to know - what's been your most magical experience to date? Just curious - and I'm leaving the question very open-ended on purpose.
