Crystal scrying is at Sacred Texts.

Tea leaves? I don't know. I got my book at a second-hand sale.

I read tea leaves sometimes. I learned from Tea Cup Tales: The Art of Tea Leaf Reading by Margaret Lange McWhorter. It's a great book and gives tons of good info, especially info on how to prepare and drink the tea before reading. Are you familiar with the Sacred Texts website? They have a couple eB...

I found mine through meditation, though I've heard of people finding their guide(s) in other ways. Do you practice anything that would get you in touch with the spirit world? I tend to divine and find my guide there as well (or at least nudging me along).

If you practice witchcraft, you are a witch. If you do not practice witchcraft, you are not a witch. Plenty of people can be pagan without being a witch. I looked into witchcraft a bit, but I have mostly left that behind. I still do some ritual things, but I consider those superstition, not witchcra...

I usually bathe and meditate before doing any kind of ritual, spellcraft or otherwise (like celebrating Imbolc). That way I cleanse my body and my mind. It is my belief that in spell casting I enter a sacred space - even without the invocation of the gods, it is sacred. Also, it rids me of outside i...

Would a nice wooden tray work well? You can pick one up at an art supply store, Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot... Lots of places and it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

Have you thought of buying/using a standard end table or nightstand and just turning it into an altar? I use an empty fireplace for my altar. Using something that isn't already labelled as magical is usually cheaper and it probably won't change anything.

Be creative? When we're both broke. Sure. Anyway, I'm not asking about creative ways to spend time together. I'm just asking for some healing energy. I'm worried about losing him to death, not distance - we love each other and even if worse comes to worse and we can't contact each other, we're still...

Well, I can't visit him if he's in Asia and I'm in North America, hence us not seeing each other.

He's going in to get tested tomorrow.

Lots of Healing

I met my boyfriend back in October and we started dating in December, mostly because I had been too dim to realise that he wanted me. In any case, we both have some major health problems, his being that he had heart failure last year and needed a transplant. Fast forward to now: his body is rejectin...

I'm not Wiccan myself, but many Wiccan traditions do require training. I guess a "mainstream" correlation would be that adults converting to Christianity go through a time learning Christian belief and dogma before being formally baptised/confirmed/whatever. Training does make a great deal...

I am of the opinion that we learn things when the time is right to learn them. Just as a baby will only learn to walk after s/he has learned to crawl, we need to die before we can know what lies beyond death. That said, if I were pressed, I do believe in the Otherworld and do think that we may go th...

Representations?

At the moment, I feel called to honour Brigid and Lugh at my altar. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea of a good way to represent them without wasting tons of money (I am nearly broke).

I have a statue of Athena (my eternal matron), but I want to see my personal patrons on my altar, too.

1) Did you read a bunch of books first or join forums like this one & network? I did both. My best friend from high school has been a pagan for ages, but we had drifted apart after we graduated. I then attended a college with institutionalised goddess worship, so that sort of threw me right in. ...

For me, at least, it is all about the will. The tools are helpful, but not necessary. Mind, I'm not Wiccan so I may not be too helpful, but this is my experience. I started off using what tools I could scrounge up (having almost no money does that to you). But I found that I was using the tools as a...
