No, as long as you paint the backside of the glass and have a thick layer of paint in the end there shouldn't be any brushstrokes. That said I didn't use cheap paint since I am an artist and have some good paints here, that could make a difference.

I made my own, too, out of a cheap picture frame and acrylic paint. I didn't use spray paint, though. I used a brush to paint it. works well, too. But I guess you need a lot less paint with a spray can.

Valerian works too, especially if lavender doesn't help to give your mind a rest, because valerian works on a more physical level. At least in my experience. Warm milk with honey, lavender and poppy seeds could work, too, although I didn`t try that myself yet.

I think it's because I have a easy time finding that spot between being awake and sleeping while meditating and staying there, so my body gets the rest it needs while my mind is still awake.
