Negative Energy or...?

Lately, I've been experiencing a lot of negative things. At first, I thought I just picked up some negative energy, somehow, but I'm really not sure. I've had terrible luck since Easter (family is Catholic, so we celebrate Easter). On Easter, my dog died unexpectedly. He was sick with kennel cough f...

Re: My Altar

Thanks for asking! :)

I've never done prayer beads before and I did minimal research, so I sort of just did what felt right.

Re: My Altar

Thanks, crescent! I don't mind sharing how they were created at all. :) I chose four sets of seven beads. Four sets, for earth, air, fire, and water. Seven beads in each set to represent the seven chakras. One set is jasper gemstone beads for balance and grounding. Another set is agate gemstone bead...

Re: How did you learn Tarot?

Thank you to everyone for responding to this. I'm still considering the class. As Xiao said, a big benefit of taking an in-person course is the feedback from the instructor. Plus, I am interesting in connecting with people in my area with similar interests. :) But I'm on the fence. Xiao, I checked o...

When do you need to cast a circle?

I'm relatively new to practicing Wicca, and from what I read, there are varying opinions on when it is appropriate or necessary to cast a circle. What are your opinions? Do you only cast a circle for spells and rituals? What if you are making dream pillows or incense or charm bags? Do you need to ca...

Re: My Altar

Thank you! I got mine from the dollar store as well. I was super happy with the find! Inside the dish on the first two photos are some stones and crystals, along with a string of prayer beads that I made (scattered around it in the third photo).

Re: Celebrating Beltane as a Solitary?

As I understand, days begin at sundown, as is observed in some cultures. I agree with working with what you have and your location. There are usually downed trees to clean up, so for us it was more of a "scheduled" bonfire and practical since burn season will end soon. We worked all day c...

My Altar

Here is my hidden altar. :) Very basic with nothing notably Pagan or Wiccan. Underneath, you can see the brightly colored storage bins that contain some candles, herbs, and other supplies. rsz_photo_1.jpg rsz_photo_2.jpg And here is my altar decorated for Beltane with some flowers that I found while...

How did you learn Tarot?

How did you learn to read tarot? Did you teach yourself? Watch some videos? Read some books? Or did you take a class? There is a class that is being offered in my area for 9 weeks. They meet once a week for three hours. I was considering taking it, but do you think it is worth the time and money? ($...

Re: Valenyx

Hi, Valenyx. Welcome to the forums. I practice Wicca, so if there is anything you'd like to know about that path, specifically, I'd be happy to share (PM or here). I'm by no means an expert though, as I begun practicing recently myself. The forums are super helpful for finding information, so have f...

Re: Celebrating Beltane as a Solitary?

Thanks! Tomorrow is Beltane, but I believe that, traditionally, celebrations start on the night of April 30th and go through sundown of May 1st. I'm not entirely positive, but that is just what the internet turned up during my searches.
