Re: Herbs used in curses and hexes
Wow, thank you all so much! I wasn't expecting to get that much info. Dark moon, I do like what you have to say about a witch that cannot hex, cannot heal. I think it puts up a good point about the balance between the two. You have me a lot to think about, thank you.

Re: Lilith & Hecate
In my personal opinion, all gods and goddesses have their good and bad sides. As with working with all magick, it's good to always know both sides of the coin

Re: Herbs used in curses and hexes
That's a pretty neat thread! Good to know that the bad smelling plants are also the 'bad ones' :p I guess that's the Goddess's way of saying "STAY AWAY!!"

Herbs used in curses and hexes
Hi all! I'm a green witch so I use a lot if herbs and plants in my craft. I know that many plants have positive correspondences or properties. However, I was wondering if these same herbs/ plants (or any others) have negative properties? For example, herbs that get used in curses or hexes. Just thou...

Re: Beliefs and sports?
Yes! I know that before a football game, I always try to meditate and I always kiss my elephant amulet for good luck. Sometimes on the field I would trace a pentagram on the football before and during the game and ask the Goddess for good luck :p With wrestling, meditation isn't always great since I...

Re: Do incantations have to rhyme?
It's not exactly necessary, although in the Wiccan Rede it states that a spell 'should' rhyme. Although many of my own spells do not involve rhyming. For simple things like a blessing I'll just say "by lighting this candle, I bless _____". Really it's all preference, but is not required.

Atheist friend is sketchy on witchcraft/magick -advice?
Hi everyone! I was kind of wondering if I could get some advice/input from people that might be in the same situation as me. So I really like this guy James, we've been on many dates and have been talking about officially dating for awhile now. A major thing for me is that my partner doesn't think t...

Ah yes! At my school, I am the president of our Gay-Straight Alliance club and we actually talked about Fred Martinez! Such a sad story, but extremely inspirational to some. Thank you for sharing

Re: Developing Relationships with All the Elements
Ohh I love all the posts on here :) personally, I have a very strong pull to Earth - I always have for as long as I could remember (I even want to major in plant science/botany in college!). However, I do extremely agree that in order to understand one's own element, you must understand ALL of them....

Re: Do love spells work?
Yes, I have done a couple love spells before. I don't look at it as "HA HA HA you will love me and marry me!" Like the stereotype of a witch :p instead, I have a few charms, potions, and chants for attracting love into ones life. None of these specify bringing a lover into the persons life,...

Re: What is a spell?
I instantly love this thread. :D Personally, I believe a spell is using the energy around me and directing it to a certain goal. Sometimes this involves me praying and sometimes involves a chant, but not always. Also, hecate8, not every spell requires the "extras" as I like to call it. Som...

Re: how do become a better witch
Personally, I have found that a "powerful" witch is one that has a vast amount of knowledge. And also no just reading a book or theories on magick, but also FULLY understanding them and creating your own theories! Get in touch with the parts deep working yourself, find your 'purpose' in li...
