Re: Bloody Mary

"Candyman" was actually based on a short story by Clive Barker. (Dont recall the book title though.)
Funny that it was brouht up as it addressed how groups of kids in a neighbourhod will all have a mythical boogyman that had lived there.....just a few years prior, of course. ;)

Re: Vampires

Something I thought about the other night, Since vampirism, if it were truly real, would be a sort of blood borne pathogen, would it not be possible to be sexually transmitted? It could which is part of why vampires are usually very careful about having sex; that, and the fact that biting a person ...

Re: Vampires

I've heard it claimed that Cain was turned into the first negro but that' a whole different story.

Re: Do you wear your pentacle in public?

I don't have a pentacle but I do wear a necklace with a Mjöllnir (Thor's Hammer) pendant on it. I have a skin allergy to most metals so the necklace I actually made myself with string, wooden beads that I wood-burned rune symbols into, and the Mjöllnir charm itself was hand carved (not by me) with ...

Re: Polyamory

I know of a couple TV shows, one a reality show and the other a drama. Both cases are members of an offshoot of the LDS church. (Warren Jeffs is an example of this breakaway sect)

A friend of mine made her own.
However, after the plantain disappeared from a dresser drawer, she decided to retire it.

Re: Wicca sexist?

When a belief system is created by one person's interpretation, then it is important to uncover any underlying themes. Balance is important, and I won't argue that. It's the interpretation of what makes the genders valuable that I'm taking issue with. I guess I should have clarified a Group coming ...

Re: Wicca sexist?

Also important to not confuse a belief system's intention with some parties' interpretation.

the balance is important IMO because if your beliefs reflect nature, there has to be both male/female energies.

Re: Wicca sexist?

I'll try to keep that in mind. Do any of the men here feel somewhat offended by the implications that a man must embrace the Goddess or his own feminine aspects in order to be sensitive, or nurturing or caring? Does it make the assumption that those are unmanly qualities, and impossible within a ma...

Re: Wicca sexist?

Rather ironic.

For years, I really didnt look too hard at Wicca due to most of the women I had met that were into it. (4-5 over several years) were really anti-male and had changed religions just so they could have a religion that disculed a male diety.
