Re: Native American Spirituality?
I have apologized to you twice now, Present. I have admitted I was wrong for taking frustrations out on you. I knew that in a heated moment it wasn't fair to judge you or to base any judgements on that one conversation. That is all I can do. If that's not acceptabel to you then I'm sorry.

Re: Native American Spirituality?
I just wanted to mention that the book wasn't from the best source. That all religions are valid and beautiful in their own right. You asked what I meant and I elaborated. I don't care what you practice or where you go, Present. I'm not trying to save your soul nor am I looking to fight with you in ...

Re: Heathen communication style compared to neo-pagan.
Ok, really? Couldn't the fighting have been over with yesterday? Since I didn't reply to your initial post with statements like "That's neat-o!", "Wow! You've really got it together!, "I see what you mean and I completely agree with you!" it must mean that I couldn't ...

Re: Recurring Dreams Help?
Usually dreams about a house represent ourselves, each room relating to an aspect of self. If a room seems dark, unclean and empty it may represent a part of your self that you feel is neglected. Normally a chimeny represents a phallus and bathrooms represent the instinctual, an unburdening, and/or ...

Re: Heathen communication style compared to neo-pagan.
*Sigh* I've already said that our first encounter online was under less than desirable conditions. I have also apologized for this. Outside of that encounter , I have been explaining the communication technique I have wherein 'IMO' and other forms of passive communication appear as ill-defined conce...

Re: Native American Spirituality?
Then how do you know the difference between someone who respects and wants to learn from a cluture that is not their upbringing and someone who uses it in a way to puff up their ego? I don't think it necessarily has to do with ego, I think part of it is just Western culture. And sometimes a person ...

Re: Heathen communication style compared to neo-pagan.
I NEVER disregarded shamanatic healing. There are MANY ways to bake cake that go back years... does that mean if you had a recepie for a 200 yr old cake, and I found a recepie for a 100 yr old cake, your cake is real cake and my cake is fake? And what I described as healing is simply what i know of...

Re: Heathen communication style compared to neo-pagan.
The reason I brought up the original conversation is because you're using that one instance to base an opinion on this accompanying thread. I'm not here to discuss shamanism; I'm discussing how I communicate and using that as a example as it was the most relevent one between us. I don't think you ca...

I'm starting to get used to my kindle app. I don't think I can get it on there any cheaper, though.

Heh. I guess it was a good idea that this was stickied. Ok, now that my computer is normal I will continue. Mine was having the same issues earlier. I do want to say that I disagree with the discription of why people say "in my opinion". For me, its because I have delt with very intolleran...

Re: Native American Spirituality?
Why am I speaking out on the subject of protecting native cultural traditions? Over the last few years, it's become very obvious how rampant exploitation and bastardization of native traditions, cultures, languages, and most importantly ceremonies has become in non-indian societies. To say that it'...

Re: Native American Spirituality?
As someone reconstructing a native tribal religion I have a lot of respect for any form of it, and am hyperaware of the ethical borrowing and lending of their cultures and worldviews. As a personal standard I check out the sources and make sure they aren't committing cultural misappropriation or cul...
