Hanging a Policeman - 10 Constable John Willard of Salem arrested
the first group of witch suspects, but a few weeks later was heard to say
that it should be the accusing girls who should hang. The girls then
accused him of witchcraft. He fled Salem, but was caught a week later and
was hanged on August 19, 1692. |
