Yes, I remember your posts in Travis's forum. I do recall well-meaning people in your life putting you under psychiatric care to "help" you make your psychic experiences "go away," and Travis helping you to, rather, accept them and grow with them. I sympathize greatly with your predicament, and I'm glad you still visit us here at the board. You can rely on any of the moderators here for assistance, me, , NightRose, Moonstone, etc., if things get rough. PM us if you don't feel comfortable posting. But I'm almost certain there are other people on this board who experienced the same difficulties you did, and you probably helped them a lot by sharing what you went through.
People fear what they don't understand, and I'm sure Travis empathized greatly with you, since where he is in Ohio there aren't many resources there either for "psychic kids" and he's had to make his own way best he could, quite successfully I must say. You are very gifted with abilities (I usually don't like to use that word, "gifted," since these abilities come naturally to all humans, but most won't acknowledge nor use them out of fear), so stay strong.
In regard to your abilities, try not to categorize yourself at this point. Just as your tagline says, not only are you more than your DNA, you are also more than your psychic and empathic abilities. I would suggest you try to steer clear of the "I am a _____________ " -kind of thinking. The pitfall with that is you start thinking that there are expectations in being "a ____________," and then you limit yourself.
First and foremost you are [your real name here]. "Psychic" and "empathic" are your abilities, not who you are. I am not a "nose" just because I have the ability to smell with one. Let psychic and empathic remain adjectives in your consciousness, not nouns. What I mean is focus on developing your humanity before your psychic ability. Don't define yourself by your psychic ability, not yet. Don't paint yourself into a corner, and don't allow anyone else to do that to you, either.
Cultivate friendships, have fun, enjoy your teenage years. Build a foundation in your personality, your character, your likes and dislikes. All of what you described are your abilities only. You're not a "what," you're a "who." You are [your real name], and that's it ...perfect, whole and complete just as you are.
In Love and Gratitude,
Elisa
