Where's Red Adair when you need him?

Perhaps you have heard of this environmental disaster. A Gas leak of MAJOR proportions.
It's awfully close to where I live, the methane that has been released is going to pop a hole in the atmosphere above the valley...that's just my dire vision
Now it has become the worst environmental catastrophe in California history,

In 1975 I remember a similar gas leak that ignited on the side of the mountain in the same area, shooting a flame 125 feet in the air. You could see it from all around the valley. They called in the expert Red Adair from Texas to deal with this tricky problem. Now I've searched high and low for an article or photo, no luck on the photo but I did find an old news clip.

Red has since left this earthly plane, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Adair
and it would seem they have no expert to follow in his shoes.

The L.A. Times reports.
If you scroll to the bottom of this page and then work your was up to the more recent stories, you will get an idea of the time line and how long this has been going on. We even had Erin Brockovich out here. It's really bad. I even caught a wiff one day when the wind was blowing our way.

A visual or two.
One is in infrared (you cannot see gas as it is clear) the other is some kind of thermal image.

Conspiracy? Accident? Anyway you look at it we are at the mercy of those who would tell us, oh...everything is ok. But this is really not ok, and our ozone really didn't need this. Methane is much more distructive than Co2.

How awful! Stay safe. I get angry too, about what we are doing to our Earth mother.

Thanks Myrth, who knows if my continued sore throat is in anyway related.
The complete helplessness is maddening. Where the urgency? It would appear the impact to the earth atmosphere isn't making them go faster. When we had the earthquake in 1994, in no time at all, the major freeway intersection that went down was repaired. Why can't they move as fast when the earth is in peril?
Ok. .. I looked it up it was about 6 months before the freeway was operational through there,
but at the rate they are moving, it will soon be 6 months that this gas has been spewing into the San Fernando Valley.
