Are you suggesting those on the otherside of the veil are empathetic and will gravitate to those in need? And visa versa?

If you slander the dead, they will get angry or sad, if you talk good about them, they will be more happy. Same attitude with offerings.

They might feel inner sadness or frustration from not being able to influence middhe directly, but they do not feel the normal survival distress of living people.
