Looking Into Habits of Effective Wiccans
By Diane Smith from Wicca and Witchcraft For Dummies

Wiccans who are successful and effective, both in their spiritual and general lives, tend to have some coping skills and lifestyle choices in common. These practices and paths are far from odd or eccentric — just often missed amid the haste of everyday business.

Grounding

Grounding power or Earthing power means to connect personal energy with the Earth. In times of stress or anxiety, grounding is a way to release excess energy from yourself. At times when you need energy, grounding enables you to draw it up from the Earth, offering a wellspring of power that can flow through you without exhausting your own resources. To ground yourself and release energy, sit in a comfortable position and flatten the palms of your hands on the ground or floor, or lie down, placing your body flat on the ground. Take three deep breaths. Visualize (picture in your mind) the energy flowing through your hands or your body and into the Earth. If you need energy, visualize the energy flowing up from the Earth and into your body. Maintain the visualization until you begin to feel the desired result.

An alternative method is to sit or stand upright and imagine the excess energy flowing down your spine and deep into the Earth. Some people picture themselves as a tree with roots sinking into the Earth. If you need energy, imagine the energy flowing up from the Earth and traveling up your spine.

Centering

After you have grounded excess energy, you may want to center your own energy or power.Your physical center is your center of gravity, your place of balance, where your weight is equally distributed. It is usually somewhere between the breastbone and the navel, although for women it may be lower. You also have an energy center, the source of all your personal energy. It's probably in the same area as your physical center. If you don't know where your center is, try picturing something that you truly love (your dog or cat, a piece of music, and so on). When you bring up that loving, self-satisfied, serene, warm feeling, try to pinpoint its source in your body. That is your center.
To center yourself, relax your body into a comfortable position (the same position you used for grounding will work), and then rest your mental, emotional, and physical awareness at that spot in your body.

Shielding

Shielding is a technique to protect yourself from negative, counter-productive, depleting, or even dangerous energy. Shielding is a simple process. In your mind, create a clear bubble or sphere of energy or light around your body. It moves with you and protects you. Instead of a bubble, you also may construct, in your mind, a shield of energy or light layered over your skin. With practice, you may become able to shield your car, your bed, or your entire living space.

Visualizing

Visualization is the ability to experience something in the mind, instead of in physical reality. If you can visualize, you can form a complete mental image of a person, place, object, or event. Visualization enables you to see, hear, touch, and taste in your mind. Most people can experience the senses in their dreams; visualization allows you to do it while you're awake.Visualizing something in the nonphysical world makes it much more obtainable in the physical world. For example, if you can visualize yourself as the author of a successful novel, you are more likely to achieve that goal in the physical world.

To get the idea about how to visualize, follow these steps:

Remember a time when you were very happy or content.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
Picture yourself back at that scene in the past. Try to remember the event vividly (if possible, engage all of your senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste, and feeling).
Try to practice visualization during the time just prior to or just after sleep. These times offer enhanced interaction with the unconscious mind.

Meditating

Meditation is a technique to turn off the mundane chatter of the mind and achieve profound contemplation or deep relaxation. Meditation is reported to have many positive effects on the mind and the body (reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, and relieving pain). Some people meditate only for the health benefits or as a means of relaxation. Other people incorporate meditation into their spiritual practice and use it as a way of gaining insight or communing with Deity. For Wiccans, meditation is a way to clear the mind and prepare for ritual, magic, or divination.

The two basic types of meditation:

Concentration meditation focuses the mind on a single image, sound, object, mantra (a repeated, usually sacred, word or phrase), or the body's own breathing.

Mindful meditation doesn't focus on a single purpose; the goal is to remain aware of all the thoughts, feelings, sounds, and images that pass through the mind. A person trains his or her mind to notice each perception or thought that passes without stopping on any one of them.

The following is a simple concentration meditation:

1. Sit or lie in a comfortable position with your eyes closed. If convenient, change into comfortable, loose clothing and remove any restrictive jewelry or eyeglasses.

2. Focus on the sensation of each breath as it moves in and out of your body. An alternative is to focus your attention on the repetition of a word, sound, phrase, or prayer, doing this silently or whispering.

3. Every time your attention wanders (which occurs naturally), gently redirect it back, without judging yourself.

Relaxing

Anxiety obstructs the flow of energy. Stress and anxiety take a tremendous toll on physical, emotional, and mental health, and they erode quality of life. Stress has been linked to all the leading causes of death, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, accidents, and suicide. The best strategy for coping with anxiety and stress is to choose a method and stick with it. Practice relaxation for half an hour every day. For Wiccans, relaxation may be part of the preparation for ritual. Relaxation aids focus and concentration. A common exercise is to breathe deeply, and focus on and relax each of the muscle groups in the body, one at a time (the hands, and then the arms, and then the shoulders, and so on).

Exercising

Good health improves the quality of life, including spiritual life. Rewarding ritual, especially effective magic, requires stamina and concentration. A fulfilling spiritual practice is easier to achieve for someone in good health, physically and emotionally. Regular aerobic exercise benefits the body, as well as helping to reduce stress and protect against depression and other mental and emotional disorders. Everyone's exercise needs and abilities are different. Ask your doctor to develop the best plan for you, based on your age, fitness level, lifestyle, medications, available equipment, and so on.

Living Well

Many people regularly don't get enough sleep, and catching up on weekends doesn't work. Sleep deprivation diminishes physical and mental functioning. Lack of sleep reduces productivity, weakens concentration, impairs memory, and poses a threat to safe driving.Nobody can function at peak physical, emotional, and mental levels without proper nutrition: the right foods in the right amounts, as well as plenty of water. That's the goal, but few people even get close. Without sufficient vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, phytochemicals (from fruits and vegetables), and water, no one can live up to his or her potential.

Serving

Many Wiccans find that serving the larger community encourages their own self-development, builds inner strength and empowerment, anchors their spiritual practice, and provides a deep sense of satisfaction.Generally, Wiccans believe all living beings come from and are a part of the Divine energy, and the Divine is within everyone. Everything is interconnected. All of nature is an unbroken circle or web of energy, manifested from Deity. Any action within the web of life affects everything else. For Wiccans, the concept of community encompasses all of the natural world, including people and animals. All people are equal in the web of life. Doing harm to anything, even by neglect or apathy, violates Wiccan ethics. Any energy that a person sends out into the world is ultimately returned to him or her with three times the intensity.

The following are examples of Wiccan service, based on shared beliefs:
Preserving the Earth and its resources
Protecting animals
Ending poverty
Ensuring equality of people of both sexes and all races and ethnicities
Helping to sustain indigenous cultures
Promoting conflict resolution
Championing education
Supporting the arts
Working for legal freedom of religion and equal protection for the Craft
Laughing

All people seek pleasure; it's one common drive that reminds us of our interconnection. Humans desire and respond to pleasure, play, and laughter. Laughter is therapeutic, releasing endorphins (chemicals in the brain) that create a sense of well-being. Laughter also may boost the immune system, elevate mood, improve brain functioning, lower blood pressure, and reduce stress.

A need for laughter is part of the way that humans have evolved, and people are manifestations of Deity. Joy, laughter, delight, and bliss are expressions of the life force. Wicca is not a religion of sacrifice, self-denial, and repression of emotions. It is a spiritual path of celebration and satisfaction.

Calming Chants for Anxiety

Well, tis the season folks. Stress, stress, and more stress! Take it down a notch with these simple chants you can do anywhere..

Calming Chant - Calming Spell
Chant this simple rhyme whenever you feel worried or scared.
I am peaceful, I am strong
Though dark may seem so long.
For day must follow every night,
Everything is alright.
I am always safe from harm,
The Goddess holds me in her arms.

Anti-anxiety Spell/Chant
Whenever you are feeling anxious, take several deep breaths and repeat the following until you have calmed down.
Nervous anxiety, you are dead.
Lord and lady, soothe my head.
Bring me to your calming peace
as I will, so mote it be.

Spell To Ward Off Bad Coworkers
If you’re in a job at the moment, and certain people are causing trouble for you, carry a piece of quartz in your right hand side pocket. You could even place a small point on your desk, aiming the point away from you. Then, when they come over to you, visualize them being enveloped in a pink blanket. Then, keeping the visualization, move the “blanket” to the other side of the office, or whatever, to re-direct them.

Cleansing Your Aura

Meditate and visualize your aura, all the good and bad energies like a living blanket of energy. Then visualize a small white ball radiating from your breastbone, inside the aura. While taking deep and rhythmic breaths, make the ball expand. As it expands and comes into contact with your aura, you will feel a mild tingling sensation. This is the pure energy acting to "burn off" the negativity and negative emotions attached to your aura. Continue to expand the ball until it completely encompasses you. You may hear a ringing in your ears, or a sizzling/static-like noise. That's ok. Hold this image in your mind until you feel certain the negative energy has been diffused.
Take a deep breath and hold it while you visualize that white light becoming like fog, dissipating around you, falling harmlessly away. What remains should be your normal, at-rest aura. You may want to do this several times the first week, then maybe once a month (or more during periods of stress) thereafter.

Witch's Bottle
(taken from http://www.unicorngarden.com/grimoire04.htm)

Anyone wishing to become a witch would be well advised, say the experts, to first lay in some protection against jealous rivals and ill-wishers in general. No matter how kind your own intentions, you are quite likely to attract the attention of other witches with fewer scruples. Magic attracts some strange characters. Many are drawn to it for the worst possible reasons and might see you as trespassing on their territory. Other people are just hostile to any hint of magic and their plain ill-will can be as bad as a curse. So some kind of protection is advised.
Luckily there is an ancient and well-tested method of deflecting all kinds of malice and bad will that a good witch can attract - the witch bottle! Witch bottles are strangely neglected these days but for hundreds of years they were very popular across rural Europe, particularly two or three centuries ago. In England particularly, most country households had at least one buried somewhere and they still regularly turn up during the demolition or renovation of old buildings. Over two hundred are in known museum collections and these probably represent just a tiny fraction of those that have been found over the years and tossed away as rubbish; and an even smaller fraction of those that still lie waiting to be discovered. The most popular places to hide witch bottles used to be under the hearthstone or doorstep. Not only were these spots the least likely to be disturbed in a peasant cottage, but they were also the main openings by which a hostile spell might enter. Bottles were also often plastered into the walls, hidden in attics and buried in gardens or lonely places. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries witch jars often had faces stamped in the glass or stoneware. In Germany and the Low Countries they were called Bellarmine jars after the unpopular 16th century Cardinal who first appeared on them in the Netherlands, but equivalents were made all over Europe. The attraction of having a face on the bottle was that it would help trick a hostile spell or wish into thinking it has found its target and then getting trapped inside as in a rat-trap. These bottles were also popularly used for burying money, with spells cast on them to deflect treasure-hunters. The idea of a witch bottle is that it will attract and trap hostile enchantments by tricking them into believing they have found their target (i.e. you.) The principle is almost the same as with voodoo dolls, but with the reverse intent. The bottle is meant to represent you so some of your personal fluids have to go into it. Most commonly in the old days this was urine, with which the bottle is half filled. Next add some hair and maybe nail-clippings or even blood if you feel seriously threatened. Blood is of course the most potent substance of all that you could use for this kind of magic (which is why vampires are so keen on it!) but, judging by the old witch bottles that have been chemically analysed, our forbears do not seem to have considered it necessary. However, if you happen to cut yourself while preparing your bottle, well, it would be silly not to take advantage of it for some added potency. Between them your ingredients will create a potent decoy or simulacrum of you on the magical plane. These days you are unlikely to find a jar with a face on it, but you could maybe draw a simple face on a piece of wood and add it to the mix. Opinions are divided over whether you should include a photograph of yourself. Some say it adds strength to the spell, others that it makes no difference and a few warn that it is positively dangerous in case the bottle falls into the wrong hands. You'll have to make up your own mind on this. The next ingredients you need are some snares to trap the hostility being directed against you. These can be thorns, bent pins or nails, barbed wire, fishhooks, anything sharp and snagging in fact. Plus you can add a tangled ball of sewing thread, which is apparently very effective too. This is all you need to make your self-protecting witch bottle. Some witches also add Deadly Nightshade and other potentially lethal herbs, and these are supposed to help if you know how to handle them safely, but are not essential.

(taken from http://www.earthwitchery.com/witch-bottle.html)
Spell bottles, also known as "Witches Bottles", have been in use in England and the United States since at least the 1600's. Spell bottles were originally created to destroy the power of an evil magician or witch thought to have cast a spell against the bottle's creator. They were often ceramic vessels, filled with hair, nails, and even the victim's urine. They were also walled up into new homes as magical guardians. Spell bottles of this type continued to be used well into the 19th century. Spell bottles are apparently of English origin. Still, one example made from a glass wine bottle dated at 1740-1750 was found in Pennsylvania in 1976. And so, such protective devices certainly found their way from England to the United States with the colonists. Spell bottles of the type described above are rarely if ever made today. However, other forms are still in use. These consist of a container, usually glass, filled with various objects of magical potency. Spell bottles are made for a variety of purposes, and are used in numerous ways. Some are buried or otherwise hidden, while others are placed in windows of the home or in other prominent spots. All are concentrations of energy, created and empowered for specific magical purposes. The Witches' Bottle is a very powerful means of protecting your space. It is buried on your property (if you are an apartment dweller, you might try burying it in a potted plant at your door) in order to attract all negative things to it where it traps them. If you move, by all means, then dig it up and either destroy it or bring it to your new home.

from SPELL CRAFTS by Scott Cunningham and David Harrington and other sources

So, here is my "recipe" for this spell. I created it by basically reading 4 or 5 different spells for a Witch's Bottle and writing down what things were the same in all of the spells.

TO MAKE A WITCH'S BOTTLE:

Fill a glass jar with sharp objects (thorns, bent pins, nails, broken glass, needles, barbed wire, fishhooks, etc) and some sage or rosemary. Most sites recommend putting your own urine in the jar as well. Next add some hair and nail-clippings. Since bottles with faces on them are hard to find, you can also draw a simple face on a piece of wood and add it to the mix if you would like. Plus you can add a tangled ball of sewing thread, which is apparently very effective too. Put the lid on and seal it by dripping wax onto it. Bury it in your yard (on the furthest corner of your property is recommended) or if you live in an apartment you can bury it inside a pot of dirt by your door.

Closing Your Chakras

How to Close your Chakras (taken from http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... akras.html )

This exercise is important, and very useful for shutting out unwanted stimuli. Upon closing your chakras, you will feel a sense of calm and inner peace. Closing your chakras will also protect you from both unwanted humans and astral entities as both attach themselves at the chakras, and by closing your chakras around threatening beings, you can prevent this. Closed chakras also protect you from psychic vampirism. This exercise can also help to still the mind when done before void meditation as it shuts out a lot of psychic noise.

1. At the end of your meditations, sit comfortably or stand up (whichever you prefer) and begin at the base chakra.

2. See your base chakra as a whirling red vortex of energy. Visualize either doors or shuttered doors and close them on the chakra, shutting out all of the light.

3. Continue this all the way up with each individual chakra, to the crown.

You should feel a sense of peace and quiet, when all of your chakras are closed. This exercise can be done several times a day if you wish to block out unwanted external stimuli and/or to protect yourself in a negative environment like around xians or other undesirables.

This is especially effective for people who are natural mediums and easily absorb energy and for those who are easily distracted.

Your chakras will open back up on their own after a bit. If you feel you need to open them right away, just reverse the above exercise and open the doors and spin each chakra several times.

CHAKRA COLORS:
Violet – also known as the crown chakra is found at the top of the head and is associated to the brain and the nervous system, this chakra also allows a deeper and more spiritual understanding of things.

Indigo – For one to have a balanced state of mind it is the indigo or brow/third eye chakra that must be opened or closed, linked to the eyes, this chakra is also utilized to enter a subconscious state of mind.

Blue – also known as the throat chakra is found in the throat area and is associated to the throat, neck, arms and hands, also linked to speech and hearing, this chakra is opened for spiritual communication.

Green – If you have love related issues, opening and closing the green or heart chakra is what you must do, this chakra is also linked to the heart, lungs and circulatory system.

Yellow – In order to increase inner strength, vitality and will it is the yellow or solarplex chakra that must be opened, also linked to stomach and organ related disorders.

Orange – For those who have problems with fertility, the orange or sacral chakra is one that you need to open, it is found at the crotch area.

Red – Representing the base or root chakra. (called Muladhara in Sanskrit) Located at the base of your spine (tailbone), this chakra is what connects us to the universe and is what keeps us grounded to it.

(taken from http://chakracolors.org/ )

************************************************************************************************************

Also some useful information about chakras:

The word chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel. If we were able to see the chakras (as many psychics, in fact, do) we would observe a wheel of energy continuously revolving or rotating. Clairvoyants perceive chakras as colorful wheels or flowers with a hub in the center. The chakras begin at the base of the spine and finish at the top of the head. Though fixed in the central spinal column they are located on both the front and back of the body, and work through it.

Each chakra vibrates or rotates at a different speed. The root or first chakra rotates at the slowest speed, the crown or seventh chakra at the highest speed. Each chakra is stimulated by its own and complimentary color, and a range of gemstones for specific uses. The chakra colors are of the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The size and brightness of the wheels vary with individual development, physical condition, energy levels, disease, or stress.

If the chakras are not balanced, or if the energies are blocked, the basic life force will be slowed down. The individual may feel listless, tired, out of sorts, or depressed. Not only will physical bodily functions be affected so diseases may manifest, but the thought processes and the mind may also be affected. A negative attitude, fear, doubt, etc. may preoccupy the individual.

A constant balance between the chakras promotes health and a sense of well being. If the chakras are opened to much, a person could literally short circuit themselves with too much universal energy going through the body. If the chakras are closed, this does not allow for the universal energy to flow through them properly which may also lead to dis-ease.

Most of us react to unpleasant experiences by blocking our feeling and stopping a great deal of our natural energy flow. This affects the maturation and development of the chakras. Whenever a person blocks whatever experience he is having, he in turn blocks his chakras, which eventually become disfigured. When the chakras are functioning normally, each will be open, spinning clockwise to metabolize the particular energies needed from the universal energy field.

As already mentioned any imbalances that exist within any chakra may have profound effects upon either our physical or emotional bodies. We are able to use our quartz crystals and gemstones to re-balance all our chakric centers and once the chakra has been properly balanced then our body will gradually return to normal.

The reason why crystals and gemstones are wonderful and powerful healing tools are because of what science calls its piezoelectric effect. (You can see this effect in the modern quartz watches). Crystals and gemstones respond to the electricity that is coursing through our body, and if the energy is sluggish, the constant electrical vibrations of the stones will help to harmonize, balance, and stimulate these energies.

NOTE: A man¹s sexual organs are located primarily in his first chakra, so male sexual energy is usually experienced primarily as physical. A women's sexual organs are located primarily in her second chakra, so female sexual energy is usually experienced primarily as emotional. Both chakras are associated with sexual energy

“Creating Good Will within Me” Ritual Bath
Unread postby Kassandra » Sun Jun 23, 2013 1:39 am

.

The occasion I wrote this was when I had to deal, on a regular basis, with a person I found to be very difficult. Though many people felt the same way about him and enjoyed acting like victims and criticizing him behind his back, I, personally, didn’t want to be saddled with such anger anymore. It was weighing me down. I wrote and performed this ritual to help me release it, and to restore serenity in my spirit …the way I like feeling! It worked really well.

I have edited it here, and am presenting it as "generic" and non-religion-specific as possible, so it could serve as a "template" that could be tailored, personalized, etc. (for instance, invoke whatever gods or goddesses you feel are important, etc.). You may want to repeat the bath for several days, depending on how deeply-rooted your resentment is.

I would be very interested in what you like or don't like about this ritual (but at least try it first, or base your comments on similar experiences). Also, it would be interesting to hear how you would tailor this to your situation and/or the dictates of your spiritual path. What would you add, what would you take away? etc.

Alchemical implements:
Fresh or dried mint leaves (to cool angry thoughts & emotions, and to cool the body & auric field, as well)
Mesh fabric tea bag, with ties (to hold mint leaves and quartz crystal)
1 small clear quartz crystal
Handful of sea salt
4 or 5 teaspoons of honey
Several tea light candles
1 green candle
Lighter
Burning implement (cauldron, dish, or whatever, in which to burn paper)
Cutting implement (scissors, boline, athame, or whatever you use to symbolically “cut” something)
Several sheets of binder (or other) paper that are dispensable
Empty bottle (recycled wine or other glass bottle, with a stopper or cap, will do)
Your personal journal (I feel it’s important to document, if possible, emotions, sensations and thoughts during a ritual, or immediately afterward)
Small tray or basket (on which to carry all the above implements)

Affirmation Statement
[Note: don’t read what’s in these brackets, as
these notes are for informational purposes only]

[To raise your vibration]
Cool the fire, cool the flame.
Cool my raging thoughts
at the sound of that name.

Mint to lighten,
sea salt to clear,
water to rinse,
foul thoughts from my ears.

Honey to sweeten,
the words that I say.
And clear quartz illumines
my path in this way.

[To clear karmic ties]
In every timeline of past lives,
whenever we’ve met,
and even in future lives
we haven’t lived yet…

IN ALL DIRECTIONS OF TIME
I NOW SEVER THE TIE
which, for whatever reasons,
had bound you and I.

I stand free from you,
And you free from me.
I declare all karma balanced.
I declare both of us free.

[Closure]
For it’s freedom we long for,
liberation from pain.
Now goes this burden
with the water, down the drain.

And now goes this burden
with the water, down the drain.

Instructions:

At your altar or desk:
• Write every foul thought you have about the person or situation in bullet-pointed phrases. Get it all out, as dark and ugly as you can get. Include any in-directly related things that come to mind about the situation, as well. Empty all your thoughts onto the paper. Keep writing and writing, until the thoughts stop coming, and they will.

• Ball up this paper, and burn it in the cauldron (or dish, or what have you). Reserve the ashes in a small jar.

• Next, place the mint leaves and crystal in the tea bag, and tie it.

• Gather the ash jar, tea bag, and all the other implements on the list, onto the tray or into the basket, and bring everything into the bathroom. Place the tray or basket within reach of the bathtub somewhere (you’ll be using things while in the tub).

Prepare for the lustral bath:
• The lustral bath is not for “physical” cleaning, so clean your body, inside and out, beforehand. Brush your teeth well, and take a good shower and scrub, etc.

• Next, place the tea light candles along the bathtub, wherever it suites you, and light them (candles signal to Universal energies, including to your own subconscious thoughts, that this is not an ordinary bath, but that this is a sacred, spiritual occasion).

• Then, tie the teabag with the mint and crystal in it onto the faucet. Run the bath water, letting the water run through the tea bag as the tub fills. After filling the tub, untie the tea bag and let it float around in the tub.

• Sprinkle the sea salt into the water.

• Before getting into the tub, recite the entire affirmation statement over the water, charging it, your surroundings, and your mind and body, with the intent of the words.

Take the lustral bath:
• Then, get into the tub. Relax, rub the water on you, enjoy the candles, the mint scent, etc. Soak in the tub, letting the elements in the water infuse into you. Imagine each element (mentioned in the affirmation statement) supporting you, helping you achieve your stated goals.

• Then, sit up and eat a spoonful of the honey. Imagine it sweetening the vibration of the words that come out of your mouth. You will still speak your TRUTH, but now without the angry charge. Rub some honey on your neck, focusing on the throat area. This is where thoughts become words. We literally "breathe" life into words with air from our lungs at the throat area. You could even cover your face with the honey (as it makes a nice, moisturizing facial mask --so you get a little beauty treatment in along with a soul treatment). Your facial expression tends to match your words: sweet words, sweet face; bitter words, bitter face.

• Next, sit on the edge of the tub. Rub some honey on the sole of one foot, then on the other. If you could manage to prop your feet up for a moment or two without breaking your neck, then do so and let the honey “sink into” your skin. In Buddhist iconography, soles of the feet represent the "path" one is walking in life. In this case, you are sweetening your path, alchemizing it from an angry path, to a serene one. There is a prayer of a Native American tribe regarding "walking in beauty" upon the Earth.

(and no, for you "spiritual path hair-splitters," this is not a Buddhist or Native American ritual, it's just something I made up, so it's OK if you're Wiccan or whatever to do it, doesn't matter. Like I said in the intro, tailor this according to your own path. These are just the main guts of the ritual)

• At this point, you might find your thoughts and intentions about the person or situation begin to “sweeten” on their own. Then, sit in the tub and rinse all the honey off your body.

• Holding the cutting implement, recite the entire affirmation again. When you get to the karma-clearing portion, lift the cutting implement and make a bold “cutting gesture” in the air. Feel the ties severing in every timeline, in every direction, in every lifetime. This is a powerful feeling.

• If you want to soak some more, fine. The green of the candle feels healing and peaceful, so you could light it and meditate on that feeling. You could also use this time to write in your journal any impressions that came to your mind as you did this ritual, new courses of action you feel inspired to take in your life, etc. You should feel a definite energy shift. You might even start crying suddenly, as you release all the pent up energy. Or, you might even start thinking positive thoughts about the person or situation (which might come as a complete shock to you).

Bottling some water:
• This water is charged with the healing energies of the sea salt, honey, quartz crystal, mint, and your words and intent. If you’d like to reserve some of the water (for an energetic pick-me-up, in case the person or situation starts to annoy you again), then submerge and fill the bottle with the water.

Then, put the quartz crystal from the tea bag into this bottle, so it can keep charging the water. Later, label the bottle “Good Will Energy” or something, and tie a ribbon around it, or inscribe a rune decoration …whatever you see fit.

When you know you must see the person (or be in the challenging situation) again, you could pour some of the water into a vial and carry it in your pocket, or wear it as a charm around your neck, or hang it from your rearview mirror. Since heat tends to make our anger rise, on a hot, sticky day you could pour some into a spritz bottle, add a drop of peppermint essential oil, chill it in the refrigerator briefly, then spray it on you while you’re out and about.

Back to the bath:
• Whenever you feel ready, remove the tea bag, and step out of the tub, but don't let the water out yet.

• Sprinkle the ashes of angry thoughts on the water. Remember each thing you wrote, how angry and hurt you felt when writing them. As you look at the dark ashes, feel how far away the charge of those thoughts now seem, how disconnected you are from them, like a body part has dropped away from you that you no longer need.

• Then, let the water out. Imagine this “good will water” pulling those thoughts from your energy field, rinsing them away. Reach into the water and coax the ashes toward the drain, and repeat the last lines of the affirmation: “And now goes this burden, with the water, down the drain…” etc. Feel compassion for yourself, having been so burdened by this, and feel how beautiful, peaceful and liberated of this you feel now.

After the bath:
• Put on some light, loose fitting clothes, and go for a walk in a nearby park. You will feel absolutely divine!

Protection Spell

Cast on a Saturday and a New Moon

Prior to casting the circle ensure the charcoal is lit in a fireproof dish. Blend together the carrier oil and cypress essential oil.

You will need:
-Charcoal Disc
-Fireproof Dish
-1 Teaspoon Carrier Oil
-3 Drops Cypress essential oil
-8 inch Black candle
-Matches or lighter
-8 Dried Juniper Berries
-Salt

1) Anoint the candle with the blended oil, rubbing first bottom to top, then top to bottom, then bottom towards top, stopping halfway up.
2) Light the candle, saying "Lilith of the Dark Moon, Hecate at the crossroads, Kali at the threshhold."
3) Place the berries on the red hot charcoal. Pour a single ring of salt on to the floor around yourself, the candle, and the incense, saying "I stand within protection of the Triple Goddess."
4) Place your hand you write with on your heart and say "The protection of the Triple Goddess resides within me."
5) Sit down inside the salt circle, concentrate on the candle flame and visualize a shield of protection within and around you until you feel safe and confident. Blow away the salt circle with your breath and allow the candle to burn down safely

A Prayer to Hecate:
When I doubt, show me my strength;
When I am wrong, show me the right path;
Light the crossroads before me, that I may see my way.
Queen of Transitions, Guardian of Doorways, Hecate, bless my journeys,
Through dark and dawn, day and dusk.
Help me to bring into balance the forces within myself -
Light and dark, above and below.
As a coin cannot have only one side, I am not whole, one without the other.
Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none. -William Shakespeare

Totem Rune

Did you know, a single Rune may choose to stay with you for a period of time, or your whole life? This Rune represents you and the lessons you carry with you, or will learn on your life's path/journey.

To find your totem Rune:

a) Meditate on the Runes; if the same Rune keeps popping up over and over again, it may be your totem Rune.

b) Work with the Runes; if you pull the same Rune over and over again, it may be your totem Rune.

c) Which Rune do you find yourself resonating with the most? This may be your totem Rune.

Thors Cross:

Pull 5 runes from the bag, one at a time. Place them in the direction noted below.

Rune 1- South. General influences
Rune 2- West. Obstacles faced
Rune 3- North. Favorable influences
Rune 4- East. Likely outcome
Rune 5- Center. Long term significance.

anti anxiety chant:

nervous anxiety, you are dead
lord and lady, soothe my head
bring to me your calming peace
as I will, so mote it be

calming chant:

I am peaceful, I am strong
the dark will soon be gone
for day must follow every night
everything is alright
I am always safe from harm
the Goddess holds me in her arms

protection chant:

divine Goddess, Goddess divine
divine God, God divine
If evil dwells within this place
please make it leave my space

anti nightmare chant:

go away evil dreams
it is not what it seems
go away, go far away, leave my dreams' sight
give me at least one good night

The Wiccan Rede
(Full Version)

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek.

Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's
insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

These Eight words the Rede fulfill:

"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
