Belated Update: the kitten has adopted a house up street. Feral Mom-cat vanished. The food summoned a opossum and a raccoon...probably why the cat vanished. My house-cat's don't mind the opossum (I call him Periwinkle) but they give the stink eye to the rather large raccoon.
