ROOM CANDLE CLEANSE

You need: White candle and holder Salt
Place the candle in the middle of the room. Sprinkle the salt in a circle deosil around the candle. Light and say:

Creature of wax creature of fire/Listen to me and hear my desire/Cleanse this room by the power of three /And blast away all negativity/With harm to none so shall it be

Leave to burn for at least 1 hour.

DOOR HANDLE SACHETS
by _Cheshire_
Door handle sachets add a sweet, old fashioned touch throughout the home. Door handle sachets can magickally charge the entrance to each room. For example: A Protective Sachet may be hung on every door entering the house: make a small bag, about 3x5 inches, tie with a loop that will allow it to hang from the door knob. You may get fancy or as simple as you wish with it, you may also make it to match the decor of your home. Next, fill it with Bay leaves ( which is wonderful protection herb ), Angelica ( which is another powerful protection ) powdered Clove ( is helpful to ward against illness entering the home and also acts as a catalyst to the other herbs ), Benzoin ( is a "power herb" that helps to focus the other herbs ) Borage ( helps to uncover any dishonest intentions ) and St. Johnswort which will help reverse any negativity and also aids in quelling arguments and animosity. Moisten the whole with Gardenia oil for peace and harmony.

HOME PURIFICATION

Incense: 1 tablespoon pine needles 1 tablespoon juniper 1 tablespoon cedar
Make sure all ingredients are completely dry. Grind ingredients together and burn on charcoal.

Spirits of the corners/Winds of the quarters/You who stand watching/And you who hear my voice/Guard well my home

BLESSING A NEW HOME, HOME CLEANSING

Home-cleansing methods are of great importance in African-American hoodoo folk-magic. Here is a simple procedure for blessing a new home and ridding a house of any unwanted spiritual influences.

Wash down the wood work and floors with Chinese Wash (or Van Van Oil in water) from back to front and out the front door and throw the remaining wash water out the front door or in the front yard. If there is no front yard, carry some of the wash water to the nearest street intersection or crossroads and throw it to the East. Then use a brand new broom to sweep the house from back to front and out the front door. Some folks also like to sprinkle Van Van Powder at the front threshold and sweep that away from the house. After cleaning as above, put down pinches of salt in the corners of each room or, if you are in a hurry, four pinches of salt at the four outside corners of the house.

BANISHING NEGATIVE ENERGY - CHANT

Negative energy may not stay,
I release it and send it on its way.
Negative energy, I banish thee,
And as my word, so shall it be!

dream/sleep pillow

This charm is really versatile and easy to make! This is something I use all the time, and it's probably one of my favourite things to make. Oddly enough I still haven't added it to my book, probably because it's so simple.(I'm writing this from memory so please bear with me)

you will need:
spare fabric (colour of your choice)
herbs (of your choice)
needle
thread
(optional) paper & pen

So, basically a dream pillow is a selection of herbs placed into a small sewn "pillow" which is then placed under your pillow inside the pillow case.

First you want to figure out what you want your pillow to do for you. The most basic pillow will help you fall asleep, but you can customize it to suit your needs. The one I'm using right now is for "a restful sleep and spiritual growth" but I've made ones for prophetic dreams and for protection against nightmares.

Once you've figured out the purpose of your pillow it's time to pick your herbs. I find lavender is nice not matter what your intentions for the pillow is, and lavender helps sleep which is an added bonus!

Now that you have your herbs chosen you have to have something to put them in. If you have a pre-made pouch then great! If not you're going to have to make your own. Don't worry about aesthetics, it doesn't have to be seen. Choose a material that isn't too thick or tightly woven, you want to be able to smell the herbs. A good rule of thumb is to put it up to your mouth and try to breathe through it (make sure it's clean!). If it's not too hard to breathe through it should be okay. Next test is to stretch it to see if there are any holes. It your material is too loosely woven herbs may fall out. Ideally the colour of the material will match your intentions for the pillow but it's not a huge deal if you don't have anything like that on hand.

It's time to start sewing! Cut out a rectangular piece of fabric about 1' x 2' then fold in half and sew only 2 sides, leaving an opening for your herbs. While sewing focus on what you want your pillow to do for you. Fill it with intention.

Now it's time to add your herbs. Add what you think is best, there's no real recipe. And if you want, add a drop of essential oil for an extra kick. Don't fill it too much though! You don't want a lump under your head while trying to sleep.

This step is optional but I like it. Cut out a piece of paper and write what you made your pillow for i.e. "quick to sleep and protection from nightmares" then add it to your pillow.

The final step is to sew up the opening and place it under your pillow!

This should last for a couple of months. If you find you can't really smell it take it out then roll it between you hands and put it back. If you share a bed with someone make sure you don't use anything they're allergic to. And if you don't share a bed and move around a lot you might want to think about making two (if you have more than one side to a bed that is).

Let it Rain

Heartsong wrote:I know it's almost summer (and in some places it most certainly feels like summer's already blazing down on us), but with the kind of muggy heat this part of the country is renowned for, I thought a "cooler" spell might be in order.

I wrote this spell last winter trying to bring in some snow. Unfortunately, I also seem to have called down ice, sleet, and hail with it. So, with that in mind, I'll preface this with a warning that, when you attempt to alter the weather, either be prepared for the consequences, or build a spell that is exceptionally specific in what you desire to bring about! I would also therefore suggest that you only use this spell when you are in dire need of a specific kind of weather (say in the midst of a drought, or are so far behind on getting things done in your home that you could use a snow day in the wintertime).

With that in mind, I altered my original snow spell for rain instead, and that's had gentler results (a nice refreshing sprinkle here and there). I think that it could also be tweaked to bring in almost any kind of weather, but rain is one of the easier conditions to bring about. Now, on to the spell! It's very simple, and requires very little in terms of items.

Requirements

~a small bowl or simply use your cauldron

~a votive or tea light candle (preferably blue, black, or white)

The Spell

It is best to cast this spell the night before you desire the weather to change.

Cast your circle.

I would recommend invoking the elements for this spell, since you will be working primarily with elemental energies. Be sure that you have ground and centered.

Place the unlit candle inside the bowl or cauldron.

Close your eyes and focus your mind's eye on the image or rolling dark clouds in the distance from where you are currently standing (if you're in a room, imagine that the roof has been peeled away, leaving the sky exposed to you). Imagine the feel of raindrops on your face, their cool dampness caressing your skin. As you visualize this rainstorm, reach out and imagine yourself tugging on those clouds, pulling them slowly, steadily towards you. As you do this, you will feel energy building within you. Keep pulling, but again, make sure that it is slow, steady, and deliberate. Allow the energy to continue swelling in and around you. Feel the air thickening with the promise of rain.

When the energy has reached its peak, say this (or something similar):

Candle bright, drops fall white
Let it rain all this night
No heat, no flood in light of sun
Let hurt or harm befall no one
Let it fall, by inches only three
As I will it, so mote it be!

As you finish the chant, light the candle and focus the energy into its light and into the cauldron. I've found it helpful to imagine a little raincloud hovering over it, raining gently over the candle. Ground any lingering energy and clean up. Allow the candle to burn throughout the night, until it extinguishes itself. As long as you're awake, periodically imagine that little raincloud over the bowl, still raining.

Note: It may take a day or two for the spell to take effect, depending on where you live. Keep imaging that raincloud and your candle lit, even after it's extinguished. This will keep the energy of the spell flowing.

daily shower cleanse

loona wynd wrote:One thing that many starting Pagans, witches, and magicians seek to do is find a way to integrates their spells and rituals into their daily life and really make it a part of who they are. When I started out in my studies and practice of witchcraft this was one thing that I too struggled with.

Here is a simple spell and ritual that you can use every morning to refresh yourself and prepare for a new day. I created this spell when I was really in need of something additional to help with my healing and work. I wrote this spell at a time when I was in the hospital dealing with MH issues.

Performing this spell every day helped me be able to do the work needed to heal each day and become healthy. Today I use it to remove any anxiety from the day before and any psychic garbage and junk from the previous day. Doing so prepares me fresh for each day.

Materials:
SoapWater
Shampoo & Conditioner

Spell:

Cast a circle in the shower containing the spell area to the shower.

When you get into the shower turn the water on to as hot as you can stand.

Get in the shower and let the water rinse you off. A the water rinses your body before you soap state:

“Water water wash away
Water water cleanse today”.

Take your shampoo and soap and wash your body once. Repeat the chant over and over again. As you watch the soap go down the drain visualize all emotional baggage that causes you pain washing down the drain as well.

Soap yourself up and repeat the chant and ritual once more. This time see any and all blocks in your way going down the drain.

When you have rinsed all the soap and conditioner out of your hair and off your body. Turn and face the shower exit.

"By the air manifested as steam I am cleansed.
By the earth in the soap I am cleansed.
By the fire which heats the water I am cleansed.
By the water which washed away all that does not serve I am cleansed.
By the power of the elements combined I am cleansed, clean, and purified!"

Turn the water to cold to finally rinse in pure water on your face.

Release the circle.

The spell is complete.

Here are two notes:

You may shorten the chant to “wash a way cleanse today” as you get into the washing. The more you repeat the chant the more effective it will be in removing mental, emotional, psychic, and physical junk all held within us.

Use this each more to prepare for each day,

Enjoy!

Herbal Healing Spell

Wolf13sd wrote:Well, I have created a Herbal Healing Spell. I have used it on my mother and grandmother, both of which have been healed through this, so I thought I would share it to help out others :) Here is out to cast it (heads up i'm still a begginer Witch) :

Items:

Tea (Any kind will do but I prefer black or regular tea)
Herbs of Choice (Example if someone is having pain in their stomach from coughing, you might want to put Rosemary in it.)
Small Pot or Teapot of Water
Filter (A Coffee filter will do if that is all you have available :3)
Coffee Cup (or tea cup. Which ever one you want)

*Do Remember To Cast a Circle First.*

*Not all herbs are safe to use if you are nursing, or pregnant, or if you are 7 or younger*

1.) Bring small pot of water to a fair boil (so its hot, but not scalding hot). Let the tea bag steep in the water.

2.) After you feel it has steeped long enough (I usually go for about 5 minutes, but you can choose how long), turn burner off and place your herbs in the water.

3.) Allow them to steep as long as you want. While waiting, hold your hand (dominent) over the pot. Close your eyes and visualize white, eahling light go from your hand and go into the water. Visualizes who ever is ill drinking this tea, and becoming healthier, better and stronger.

4.) When you are done vizualizing, chant the following

"Blessed Be
This healing tea
May (whoever is sick )'s ailment
Leave them and flee

So mote it be"

5.) When done chanting, put the filter on the cup and strain the tea into it.

6.) Once finished, you can either dispose of the filter with herbs in it, or you can save it to use again.

7.) Serve to the sick one. It may take a while, but I know it will help. You can always personalize this spell if you wish.

You'll need:
-Orange slices
-Ginger slices
-1 cup of water
-1 teaspoon of Green Tea leaves
-Honey or sugar (optional)

- In a pot, boil the water and wait 4 minutes
- Put the orange slices, ginger slices and the honey/sugar in the teapot.
- Put the hot water into the teapot and dissolve the honey.
- Wait more 2 minutes.
- Put the green tea leaves.
- Let the tea infuse for 2 minutes.
- While the tea infuses, visualize your wish coming true and chant the following:

"I have pure intentions, you see,
I ask that the lucky wind bring it to me,
Let it be on my way
And, if possible, make it stay,
With harm to none, my will be done."

PS: Green Tea is very delicate, so I prefer to wait the water to cool down, and use a short infusion time, because it can become bitter if the water is very hot or if the infusion time is much long, but it’s only personal preference. :)

the thing? I have on my altar

(I've posted this elsewhere too, this is just for me so I remember to write it in my new book )

so this is a little dish I have on my altar. I use it to attract things to my life that I've been missing. To make this you must: 1. Figure out the most important things you want/need in your life. A good way to sort this out is to look at what you've been missing. I chose love, health, and protection but threw luck in there cause that could never hurt. 2. Find herbs that correspond with the things you've chosen. The amount you need depends on the size of your dish, mine is very small so I didn't use many. 3. Find a stone/thing that represents you, preferably one that fits in your bowl. I chose a moonstone, because it's my birthstone, and I've always felt a deep connection with it. Alternatively I could have used an old silver locket that I have. 4. Throw it all together! This is where you could say something over it, a spell or a prayer. I usually don't, just because the whole time I'm making it I'm focusing my intent and charging it.

This usually sits on my altar all semester, I might refresh the herbs in there after a few weeks, or I might just leave it. Whatever feels right. You could also use this method to charge the stone/object you chose, then carry that around with you. If you have a specific situation, like a test, date, or job interview, this is a good way to charge a charm to bring with you.

It's supposed to be made on Wednesday and remade every Wednesday until needed.
You need yellow square cardboard or paper and black ink. If you don't have them, you can color a piece of paper yellow. You simply draw the talisman and keep it under your pillow or mattress.
