How does magick feel to you?

Hi guys!

I've been frequenting the forum and I don't think I have seen a post on how magick "feels". I see some talk on how to use magick(like gathering the energy into your arms and "pushing out") but I am curious how it feels to you.

Is it tingly? Warm? Cold? Does it hurt or feel good?

Well, for me there are different kinds of feeling, one physical and the other is a state of mind, or thought.

The physical sensations of energy movement that I've noticed are motion, movement like a brush of finger tips along the skin, away from my body. Occasionally i'll feel a soft tingle as pressure in my middle (edit: I want to say "fire in the hole" or "she's gonna blow!"). It can get uncomfortable if i dont let go. Sometimes out doors in moon light It's easier to see a blueish gray smoke surrounding my arms and hands, sometimes floating upward in front of my face. It resembles the motion of breath on a cold day, light blue & is like mist. Physically, it's invigorating while it's happening. Relaxing when it's past.

I've also occasionally seen this blue mist around my hands while charging spell items. More often I'll see a lighter aura around the hands and item during energy transfer. I see auras fairly often and easily, without concentrating too much. I've often seen this blue light like little rays of static electricity on people, especially when laughing. And ive seen it dance between 2 quartz crystal points. I don't feel it as often as I see it.

Now the state of mind, which I suppose is an emotional feeling, while doing magic is more indicative of status and outcome than physical sensations. Even briefly noted for just a moment, if the feeling is clear and real-at-the-moment, it's a done thing. There's no doubt, no guessing, no wondering if it's going to work because it already has. It's past-tense, been there, done that. And feels balanced, not tipsy.

It usually feels positive to me, but sometimes a little draining. Maybe like a moderate workout.

When charging, it feels to me like my body starts to warm up. From the feet, up to the entire body and in the and my hands. Then, my ears seem to get clogged and I hear something simmilar to how you hear the water while scuba diving. It's like the sea, the wind and the burning fire are in my ears all at once. I get a shiver, and then I feel something simmilar to a ball in my stomach. When I get that, my energy/magic is ready to be released.

After casting the spell, it feels like part of me is getting into the spell. Afterwards, depending on the power of the spell, I feel tired and drained, but there is also a feeling of " I did it!!" and of happiness.

At the end of every single spell and ritual, I try to forget about doing it, never doubt it, and just wait for the results.

I've felt a variety of physical sensations, but it seems to depend on what I'm doing.

During a binding spell, I felt cold from the inside out, kinda like I do when I'm in extreme emotional distress (and the person I bound caused me and several others that), and I was also very jittery, which I think was because of the amount of energy I was using for the spell.

That was an unusual case, though. When I perform a ritual, such as a blessing or cleansing, it's usually a very positive feeling, like I just took a deep breath and the air smelled really good. Sometimes it can be draining, also, especially if I'm working with a lot of energy.

During spell work, I often have a feeling of having "butterflies" in my stomach. After spell work, I feel like I need a nap.

Magic, to me, feels like when you were a little kid on a swinging on a swing set, going so high you feel like you could literally touch the sky :) Goosebumbs and all.

Huh, it seems that everyone has different sensations while casting magick but for certain the most consistent feeling is being drained afterwards. Is that because you draw energy from inside of you then expel it via the spell?

Maybe the whole process of charging and releasing the energy is making the physical body tired.
I'm not sure though...waiting for the more experienced witches to enlighten us =3

Like electricity flowing through me.
Sweet, strong electricity that blurs
phsysical reality with trance elements.

It's like falling into an intensive poem.

When I worked with chakras it felt like tingling, warmth and something like waves/pulses going through me. And I felt light-headed. And a bit like being on a boat and rocking up and down.

When I did Reiki my hands were physically hot and my "patients" reported feeling a very pleasant warm sensation.

It is hard work, so people feel tired, like Snow referred to feeling after a workout. But not drained. We don't use our own energy. The body is a conduit through which free-energy passes. The tiring part is sustaining the will; holding the image, the thought and emotion. When done well, we can and should feel OK. Lots of people when first learning, think they have to make the energy, but we soon learn to draw the energy and let it pass through us.

My personal opinion is that because many are empathic, we have to learn to separate our Self from the feelings and energy we pick up constantly. Until we learn to let other people's feelings pass by, and that we are separated from it, we think it's our selves, our energy, and don't know to step aside and either shield ourself from, or choose to channel these other feelings. It's a subtle awareness, but it makes all the difference to how we perceive and move our energy, other people's energy, and free energy.

Basic grounding and centering techniques help a newbee identify their personal energy from the get-go. They become routine.

I experience it as a cold shot through my body, almost like electricity or adrenaline. I practiced a long time trying to perfect channeling it through my body as a circuit. Anymore if I want to start a flow all I have to do is tap my middle finger to the opposite wrist. When I'm done I sink it out my feet, rooting, and out my head, shooting, as part of the tree of life method of grounding.

To me it depends on the task I'm doing
If I'm manipulating my own energy I tend to get a tingly sensation where as if I'm healing myself through my own energy the effected area goes warm. If I'm working with crystals and drawing in their power to try and set my intention into the stone I find the chakra the stone corresponds to tends to go cold. When I draw up energy from the earth I get this electric sensation like I can do anything and then either have to release it via a working or ground it. I've also been creating chi/psi balls out of my own energy which is fun.
