To cast a spell: Did I do something wrong?

As you can see at the topic, I am the one of new members here. For 4 or 5 months, I search about Paganism, Wicca, Spirituality things and I found here. It's so beautiful to see people like me. Firstly, English isn't my native language, but I am trying to make you understand as well. I am a Turkish girl who is 14 years old. (It's not a good place to say this but, I am Muslim. I just said that because I know you are respectful to other religions) Personally I love these things very much, I do my own spells, my own book of Shadows. But uhm, there's a difference. I only use paper and pen to make my spells, is there anything wrong with this? Am I doing something wrong? (That means I don't use anything more, but my friends that I use healing spells to them says that it works very well though I don't use nothing special.) That's making my mind confused. Okay, I do healing with my spells, I heal the people but... Actually I want to be more strong. (Not for myself, for my friends, family etc. Because when I do, it only continues for maximum 20 or 30 min.)

However, I think that I will find good friends from here. Thanks for reading that long text. Greetings from Turkey! :fairy:

I think it is wonderful. We can do our work with no tools at all. Healing comes from the spirit within and spirit needs nothing but our willingness to allow it to flow.

Greetings neighbour!

I believe there's nothing wrong with using only what you feel is necessary for your spells.

Also, we would love to get to know you better, so please go to the top section of the forum and introduce yourself. Thank you!

Hello! The only spell I have done so far required only my own energy and a bit of concentration, and so far it's worked quite well. I'm still new myself, but if it works well and you're happy with the results I can't imagine there would be anything wrong with that.

Thank you guys to replying very fast! Well, here is something very sad: Actually I noticed that I can do spells (I didn't know what is it when I was 10 or 11) when I was a child, I did something bad when I cast a spell for the first time. I only did what I do usually now. Writing some sentences with pen on a piece of paper. I was angry to my friend, when I finished my own spell-casting-style, 5 or 6 minutes later, he cut his finger with a scissors. I could see the blood. The sad thing is... I can't remember how I did this thing, its steps etc. It been many years. Now, I only use what I clearly remember about it. But I thought that it was my best. Now... I can write something too but not as strong as my first time. Do you guys have any other advice for this?

(By the way, I don't only do healing spells -Oh bad English alert- I noticed that I can do something for blocking psychic attacks too. Frankly, I don't know what is that I do. Spell or what? And, what do you think about using different colored pens for spells? -Smiling- Ehm, Because I use rainbow colors, especially red for blocking attacks, green for healing, blue for protection etc.) Sorry for disturbing with these long text again ;_;

It takes a few mistakes for us to learn not to do spells in the heat of our temper and anger, but to stand back and ask ourselves what is best. As long as we learn, we know we're human. If we can curse we can heal. It's a choice we make often.

The colored pens are a good idea. I use color in my work too...for me, red is vitality, life energy and gets things going. Each of us uses what makes sense to our own way of doing things. Written goals are working for you.

You could experiment with sigils, if you want just to see if it makes a difference. Write out the goal in as few words as possible, cross out any duplicate letters, then take the remaining letters and make a glyph from them. Turn them around, up-side-down, capitals, lowercase (whatever the Turkish equivalent may be, if you do not use English, or even use a different alphabet). The glyph becomes the spell. It can be written onto a folded paper and put in a shoe or pocket to work slowly, or burned to release it's power all at once.
