Hey there, I know you already gave us a bit of background info, but I can promise that the mods will ask you to go to the new member post up top and introduce yourself... We like being familiar with new faces :)

Aside from that, what should you do next? I would suggest you read and reflect a good bit, it will help you find your path. Everyone here practices differently, so you will get many different answers to all of your questions. None are wrong, just different :) Read, ask questions, journal... your path will come to you in no time.

What Smogie said. ;)

You can practice as you like. You don't have to "be" anything or follow any particular path. Just follow your interests and your heart.

As a person who is "sensitive" I can tell/feel when I am around somebody who also has ability. This may be what this person was picking up on. Though I would never tell somebody what they "should be". This person may simply have been suggesting you might like to do some reading and discovery. That doesn't mean you won't blend it with your already present beliefs....or even choose to ignore it. Your call.

Hi!

Something similar happened to me. My wife and I were told by a woman in a coffee shop that she could sense we were searching for something, and she said we were really strong and that we should practice magic together. She said specifically, "You two should cast spells, together, they would be very powerful".

We laughed about it for a long time, and then events led me to my current understanding and I ended up here attempting to learn and explore in a real world sense and not just in a theoretical and historical context.

So here is the best advice I have as someone who is still very much a baby to this religion in practice.

Contemplation.

Learn what the word means in it's most involved form. Then try to do it. Do it for a year and a day. By then, you'll know what you need to know, and you'll truly understand, how much you don't actually know, and then you will have a general understanding of where to go next.

I'm not saying, ignore everything and leave these forums for a year and a day. Just saying, while reading and posting and learning and reading, give yourself time. You don't have to work it all out in a week, or a month, or a year.

Enjoy the journey, have fun, and try not to take it too seriously. It's not there is a standardized test waiting for you about this stuff.

What you have said isn't far fetched at all. You must have felt some link to what the person told you or you wouldn't have responded to it, so you just need to explore and find out what things you most want to know. Just a suggestion, try one subject every few months,

Journal and take notes along the way as a reference. Even a sentence or two can jog the old bean later and give an ah-ha worth waiting for. Start with a cheap spiral bound notebook and a pen you can chew on. Then you can be free to blot, scratch out, misspell and doodle to capture your thinking. You've always been drawn to magic, you say. So write down why. Be as honest as you can, nobody's looking. what attracts you? What puts you off? what do you want to know about magic? That will tell you where to look, then just follow your nose.

if you want spiritual development look into meditation. If you're interested in the religious aspect then read up on rituals. Often a circle rite covers most needs. If the craft part draws you then read about spell crafting - not just what, but why & how. (Ann Moura's Green Magic is one I'd suggest.)

You've already made a start letting us know what you believe. So write down in your journal why you believe as you do, just to make yourself aware. Nothing, is more interesting to ourselves than what we are thinking.
