You need to understand that Magick is real. It's alive. It's very much in existence. Some people are born with it, others have to cultivate it. The ones that cultivate it don't really believe it. Do it. Trust it is done. Forget it. And soon, it will be. I always end with, as it is said, so it is done. Or as it is thought, so is it done., pretty soon, you won't even have to sit for a formal affair. Your thoughts become so powerful, you have to keep them under lock and key. And always, always, pay attention and be careful. Not afraid. Just care- full.

Its an old thread but possibly a new angle with the opportunity of creating a more healthy and productive approach toward issues of self-sabotage, one that I was recently made aware of and am currently deeply considering.

Self-sabotage is a form of Self-love

That there is a part of the psyche which is trying to protect us, to keep us safe the only way it knows how, by keeping us the way we have always been, by creating a "failsafe" of effort, resistance, failure and guilt toward efforts of change.

It is shortsighted and bases its actions on the results of the past, not the opportunities of the future - it cannot see the long game.

So now, rather then being approached as a failing or an enemy, it needs to be recognised as an over-protective friend that is trying to help us but is misguided and using outmoded techniques. It needs to be recognised that it comes from a friend, from a place of love and reassured in a positive way that this change is what we want, that the pain of change is wanted to the preferance of the pain and consequences of staying the same - that we are able to face it and mature, together as a whole entity.

Thoughts?

It can also come from a perspective of anticipation and impatience. Sometimes the head says"But I did everything just as I should. Why didn't it work?" and the all to human impatience intrudes. The next time we press instead of letting it flow. Just think "If I want to lift a hundred pounds with little effort, I better lift this twenty pounds a bunch of times every day to achieve my goal." If this understanding walks hand in hand with the ideas you have put forth maybe it will ease the way better then either understanding alone.
