Yes, hello!

You should by a reference book on the Magical Use of Herbs. Culpepper has a good one I think, as well as a few others.

The basics is that each herb has a planetary affinity, and each planet is responsible for teaching/practicong certain philosophies.

Mercury for intellect, Mars for war, Venus for love, etc.

Corvidus, I have never heard of a planet being responsible for teaching, or practicong (practicing) certain philosophies.

I do believe you mean each planet is said to have certain correspondences, and attributes, in esoteric lore.

When I read your post, I could not help thinking of some deity, looking at a list, with all the planets in front of him/her :

"Okay, Mercury, you are responsible for intellect, Venus you take love"...etc.

Lol...somehow, I don't think so... :P

Depends on whether or not you believe in the planets having Consciousness.

For example, Saturn as being the planet of Karma and lessons. Maybe his are more obvious than the others?

My own personal philosophy, I guess ;)
