Anxiety Advice?

Hi! I have pretty severe anxiety, and I am seeing a therapist (and a very good one at that) for it, but I would like any advice. Meditations, or herbs, or whatever you find helps. I understand that there are no quick fixes, and as I said I do also have professional advice, but I do also feel some kind of spiritual advice would help me, personally. If it helps anyone with thinking of anything, my main thing is getting through day-to-day tasks without panicking.
I thank you all for your help.

I'm in the same boat. Some days are harder than others, but I have found that making my own little mixture of herbal tea is a nice little morning routine that helps me a little bit. It is usually piping hot, so I will meditate for a short while while it is cooling. Like you said, there is no quick fix and it is wonderful that you have professional help, but sometimes having at least one little daily routine that you can depend on will help. In fact, my therapist suggested that I start a morning routine such as yoga, mediation or reading the morning paper for a set amount of time and this is what I came up with.

What I use:
A pinch of green tea
A pinch of lavender
A pinch of muddled mint
A pinch of sage
A orange or lemon peel
Honey to taste

As I prepare it I try to focus on the properties each element possesses and focus on how it will help me throughout my day. Green tea, lavender and honey to calm and sooth me. Sage and mint to purify and heal me. Orange or lemon peel for pos energy.
This stuff is pretty tasty too :)
As for the meditation, I use something that a yoga instructor did in class once- send love to the world. You think of a complete and total stranger, such as the barista at starbucks and send love to her. Next, someone you have just met. Then a good friend. Then a close family member (or even a pet!). Then, decide that you derserve to be loved and send love to yourself :)

My only note is (and I mention this because you have no gender listed) Sage is typically not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Again, this is my little thing I have going on. Feel free to borrow the idea, I hope it helps.

Hi! I tried the meditation and that did help, thank you very much for that! But a quick question, what's muddled mint? Is it just a few different types of mint mixed together, or is it a specific variety of its own?

*waves hand* I'm just a regular ol' bundle of anxiety!!! So I know what I use to help. Haha. I'm glad you're getting professional help because that's really important.

I make an aromatherapy "cream" that really helps. I put it on my hand because it smells nicely and also helps with the skin. I take coconut oil and then I mix in rose oil, lavender, and any floral scents I can find because anything floral, to me, is relaxing.

There is something else I take that I'm not sure if it's helping yet or not, but you could ask your therapist/psychiatrist if it's alright for you to try it. I want to make it CLEAR not to take this without consulting a medical professional because it is a supplement. It's called Mood up, Stress Down by Well Roots. It has a blend of Rhodiola, L-Theanine, saffron, passionflower and lemon balm as well as chamomile. I've seen really positive reviews but I've only taken one dose so far so I can't tell you how it's working. A bottle of 60 capsules here was about 15 dollars.

Also, taking baths with lavender or rose oil can help bring you down from anxiety or even simply pausing what you're doing, closing your eyes and taking deep breaths.

I hope this helps and that you are able to find something that will help you!

It is just mint that is broken and pushed around to release the flavors and oils in it :) I would muddle all of the herbs
, helps get the flavors active and stir up the magical properties. I am glad that the meditation helped, I find it very calming.
Sakura, I will have to ask my doctor about this supplement as well. Please let us know how it is working for you :)
