I have OCD. i have had it since i was a little girl though only a few close friends and family know.
I refuse to be put on medicine because i have found natural ways to help myself. I still struggle often espeically intrusive thoughts but my faith in the goddess, witchcraft, and nature helps me through.
I want to say to others with ocd that your not alone. If you ever need a hand dont be afraid to speak out. Therapy does help give important tools how to cope as well as support from other sufferers. im always willing to listen and open my heart if anyone needs me.

Hi Shadowbutterfly7, glad to hear that you are helping yourself. OCD is difficult to overcome but have faith, you will be able to control those thoughts! It definitely helps that you are open to therapy and have the will to recover from this condition. And thank you for being brave to stand out here to offer help to other people who have OCD! Support group is always helpful :)

Hi

Yes I suffer with health OCD and in the past supernatural OCD which led to me losing my connection to the spirit world and my path and led down hill in my life ever since.

I have suffered with OCD my entire life and it is now, very disabling.

What natural ways have you found that help?

And how do you get past issues of intrusive thoughts in incantations and meditations, do they have a negative affect on your spellwork?

A lot of people don't have the will power to do that and take charge especially in the face of a mentally straining illness! Cheers to you my friend! My Uncle suffers from OCD as well, it is a daily struggle for him but he manages well with his own faith (he's catholic) to guide him. It is always wonderful to hear people like you do such empowering things in their lives :)

I live with OCD and have since I was a child. I try to stay away from statements like "I struggle with OCD," "I have OCD," or worst get, "I am OCD." This illness does not define me. It's just like a bothersome little buddy that lives with me. But I don't fight my need for routine. Practising them relaxes me. Sometimes they're really weird and I get stares when I'm in public, but today I have enough self-confidence to not care what strangers think. I do what I need to do to prevent a panic attack. My partner supports me fully and when I'm really stressed out (for example, being in a big city) she'll even do them with me. It makes me feel safe to not be judged. Certain habits that annoy Me, I try to break when I am in a good mental state . For example, leaving the house to the right instead of the left. But only when I feel well enough. If I'm stressing hardcore (I have 4 other anxiety disorders) I don't add a burden by forcing myself to break my routine. The OCD I live with presents itself in habits and rituals and an obsession with numbers/counting. What about yours?

I have OCD too among other things and I don't want to be on medication anymore either. I've found ways of working with it myself and have found ways to break some routines. Magick work has really helped me with my mental health and while I'm by no means perfect, I am slowly overcoming it and am definitely better than where I once was. It's good to know you are not the only one struggling. (:
