No, everyone is their own individual, not a mindless drone. IF it feels right then go for it but don't believe in something simply because someone else does.

no you don't understand me what i'm trying to say? parents always means the beast for they're children..
Confused...I agree, sometimes they think they know what is best...however, Hallowhim, as I said you are your own person. If you believe in something do so because you genuinely believe it to be true, not because someone you know and love does so, we are all people and must find our OWN way, not simply follow another...once you understand this you'll have grown more than you will know. :)

Parents absolutely do NOT always mean the best for their children. I sincerely hope that YOUR parents mean you the best. But just because parents sit up there on their high horse and tell you over and over again that they know what's best and they are only doing this for your own good, that doesn't mean it's true. I have yet to meet any parent who isn't motivated at one time or another by self-interest. Parents may seem like they know everything but they are people just like you. They have big fat egos just like you, and they want to have their way just like any screaming two-year old. The vast majority of parents that I have known are self-centered and they are raising their children to be self-centered too.

As for religion, I'm not trying to force my beliefs down your throat. You guys wouldn't be here if you didn't already reject Christianty (or other faith) on some level. And as for saying that Christians are nice people (except for your parents who just happen to be intolerant assholes - thanks for making my point for me)... My own mother and sister are sweet and loving Christian people. They are tolerant of my beliefs and do not force their opinions on me. But from what I have seen, especially in the South where I live, this is the exception to the rule. There are a lot of Evangelist Christians and Baptists in the South. They are judgemental and intolerant. And you know what, it's not even the PEOPLE that I have such a problem with, though I do have a problem with them too. It's the actual religion itself that I take issue with. Just like Moonstone said, their religion is teaching them to hate other people and to make war with anyone who doesn't agree with their backward point of view. If you have ever read any of the feminist works that are available, I assure you you would probably be just as pissed off about it as I am. Men have intentionally created a religion that makes women into lesser beings - the ever-patient helper and mate to the male. Women were an afterthought. After God made his masterpiece Adam, he decided that Adam needed a mate so he wouldn't be lonely. That's the only reason that women were created, according to the Bible. And then the first thing Eve did that had any importance was that she disobeyed God and tricked Adam into eating the apple with her. They both got kicked out of the Garden of Eden because of HER mistake (they don't make a big deal of the fact that ADAM also ate the apple.) And then the Bible says in Genesis 3:16:

To the woman God said, "I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you."

They can suck it. Their religion is not for me and I resent the fact that they even think I should follow their backwards religion.

And parents are not always right, just like religion is not always right. Parents only want you to think they are right so that you won't argue with them or try to have an opinion of your own. I've rarely met any parents who were smarter than their children. (That doesn't mean the kids are "better" or "nicer". They are simply smarter.) And my opinion is that you do not need to follow the religion of your parents, at least not after you have left their home.

Bright Blessings,

If you want to follow wat your parents religion it is ok but as long as you feel comfortable with wat they believe and that you should also go with your own morals. I don't like how you HallowHim just blantly put it that those other religions would go to Hell as someone said on here (can't remember their name lol srry) only the Divine has the right to chose where you will go or where ever you go when you die. I myself see that those that condemn other are just in there own self wish to be God themselves cause it will gives them the feeling that they are better because they have no control in their own lives. I feel that even though they claim that their religion is omnipotent they should look at the times BEFORE their religions and try to see the similarities between them. And that they need to open their eyes to all the flaws that are in the Bible like SO many examples that can be found on the site (if you can find them I just stumbled on them by accident :P lol). But anyway I wish you the luck
