What I am?

I guess I conside myself a spritualist, what ever that means. I believe in God. I believe Jesus existed. I think (my opinion only-no offense to anyone at all) that the bible may possibly be fiction written by people to explain the world, like mythology. Personally I think that what ever anyone practices is fine as long as no body gets hurt. By that I mean no people or animals are abused. No hate is taught (such as Christians or any other group who hate gay people because that does hurt people). That just where I am. I don't hate anyone. I love animals and all the creatures on earth and if you feel the same then I like you too regarless of what "label" you may have such as Wicca, Muslum, Christian, Buddist, what ever. Be good to other beings, that's my religion I guess. I believe in Karma too.

By the way....I just love this group and I'm so glad I found it.

Mary, I personally believe that "labels" are highly overrated. Not to say that anyone who has labeled their belief system is wrong, because of course it's not. However, it is also ok to have strong, heartfelt beliefs without feeling obligated to call it anything. It sounds like you believe in love and acceptance. That is beautiful. :-)

Hard to go wrong with that philosophy, IMO. ::coolglasses::

I know how that is...I sorta have bits and pieces from all religions. And I'm mostly between Wiccan and Satanism because they have a lot of the same ideas....and even finding a label for what I am and can do by ways of magick is hard. Witch, Magician, Sorceress,Psychic...none of those fit :P

but yeah...you seem on a good path ^-^ Love is the best thing to believe in ^-^ It is the most powerful thing in existence

Why label yourself anyway? I call myself a Witch but that's just so other people can relate to me.
If I had to give myself a title it would probably be simply 'pagan'.

We are what we are. Just be.

On the one hand, labels are unimportant. But they do help with communication, and I think also most of us look for places to "fit in". Humans are social animals; we look for packs of like-minded people to which we can belong. Labels help us find those people.

I think it's harder with paganism because we have few organizations that could serve to define us, and there's a lot of eclecticism among our ranks.

And for the sake of my sanity let's hope it stays that way!

I'm a bit of an odd one anyway. The are two major factors to me - I'm gay and I'm pagan, yet most gays and pagans I meet annoy the living crap out of me.

Go figure.

I agree, labels do limit... but some are looking for that collective connectivity, so I understand that too. Generally, one who believes in the existence of "God" or a singular "higher power", following no other specific religion, is labeled Agnostic. Buddhism, Taoism, Wicca and other forms of Paganism follow a belief in karma (there may be others I'm forgetting, but those are a few of the more common ones, off the top of my head). And as the Agnostic categorization only specifies "a belief in the existence of A higher power" (note the "a", denoting the singular sense- It's often a matter of polytheism versus monotheism), a belief in karma realistically could fit into the category of an Agnostic believer.

Have you ever considered taking a comparative religions class or doing some independent study on miscellaneous religions? I took a wonderful comparative religions course in college-- that may be just the right thing to help you find a path that best suits you and what you are looking for.

Bright Blessings to you on your journey~
