Our Mother prayer

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this or not? Many years ago I read a book about Goddesses but I can't remember the name or author. I think it was a book geared more toward teens, but it wasn't a Silver Ravenwolf book, I'm sure. Anyhow it talked about how the Christian prayer Our Father would be so different if it was Our Mother. It went something like this: Our Mother who art the Earth, hallowed be thy name. Her Queendom beneath our feet, and thats all I can remember. I have always wished I could find that prayer again some day but I haven't had much luck. If anyone knows what book I'm talking about please let me know? I can see the cover of the book in my mind, if my memory is right it had a pink cover and Aphrodite was on it.

Is it this?

"Lord & Lordess Song"
Our Mother, alive within us!
Haloed be your name!
Thy Queendom come! All love as one!
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our violations
As we forgive those who wound and agress us
And lead us not into the darkness
Lead us now into the lightness
Alive is the power of light And its living forever!

*

Our Father, alive within us!
Haloed be thy name!
Thy kingdom come! Thy will be done!
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day out daily bread
And forgive us our violations
As we forgive those
Who wound and agress us
And lead us not into darkness
Lead us now into the lightness
Alive is the power of light and its living forever!

Hi Vesca! No, unfortunately that isn't the poem I'm looking for, but that IS a very good one. I guess I will have to keep searching.....

I know that this isn't going to be any help since I don't remember the name of the book, but I think I have seen the poem you're talking about. I had it written down, but I lost it the last time I lost part of my physical Book of Shadows. :( I know it was in one of the books that I borrowed from a neighbor, but the only book title I can remember is "Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft." I'm pretty sure that's not the right book though, because I've skimmed through it specifically looking for that poem before and couldn't find it. The next time I look through an old folder of mine, I'll check the stuff I have copied from books that I've read but don't own and see if I can find the title that way.
Best of luck to us both, I've been looking for it too. :fairy:

cool stuff there Kassandra... Well dear I looked and looked and I know what you are talking about I have seen it I can't remember the author either. I like the version Vesca found.
here is a temp image with one other version...and I will type it so when the image disappears at least the print will be here!
Image
our Mother who art the earth,
hallowed be they heart.
they healing come,
wholeness be done,
in us, as it is beyond.
today we give our daily joy
and forgive our self as we accept you.
we kneel to thee earth Mother
to thy higher self, my other
for ours is the freedom,
and the wonder,
and the love.
now, now, now!
so mote it be

now this isn't the one I have seen before, I'll keep looking, I have it on paper in one of my many folders, I will print if I find it!

...so in my ramblings I cam across this beauty of a twist on the footprints in the sand poem...Hilarious!!!
just had to share...
Image
Butt prints in the Sand.
one night I had a wondrous dream
one set of footprints there was seen
the footprints of the Goddess they were
but mine were not along the shore

but then some stranger prints appeared
and I asked Her, "what have we here?
these prints are large and round and neat
but much too big to be from feet"

"My child", she said in somber tones
for miles I carried you alone
I challenged you to walk in faith,
but you refused and made me wait"

"you would not learn, you would not grow,
the walk of faith, you would not know
So I got tired, and I got fed up
and there I dropped you on your butt"

"Because in life there comes a time
when one must fight, and one must climb
when one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

I do not know the author the image said,... Pagan and Proud of it.
