I do all the time. I ask questions with my left hand, then give the pen to my right, let it answer.
The stuff I have been told, it’s not wrong n it’s all starting to happen every word of it.

I have 4 or 5 divine sources in my unconscious. I can write theories and practices down. It takes white light to proof it.

I had a friend who had passed away & she was from Germany. I asked for a message from her while doing automatic writing & i spelled out a sentence in the German language. And I don't know German. I showed what I had written to her son, who is fluent & he said it was even spelled perfectly in German. I know it was a direct, comforting message from her.

If it wasn't for automatic writing a large percentage of the poetry I have written wouldn't exist nor would my entire intuitive practice, which evolved out of free-association and gestaltism (psychology).

--------

Your poems make me a fraud
for I have nothing to say.
My prose is spun in splinters,
scrambled ideas score empty air,
just a desperate poise,
an empty pen,
a blank pad,
a vacant chair.
Between us both the unassailable gap,
that place between thought and feeling,
that void of ever-knowing.
Awen,
Oracle,
Cauldron,
Muse.

Hear my prayer.

Blood ink a-flowing,
neurons aglowing,
rhyme and repeat,
stutter to speak,
lose myself in lousy rhyme,
to feel the meter,
pick up the time,
till thought and passion scarcely meet,
a jumble,
a stumble,
a ragged beat,
lost letters in liquid glide,
symbols of paint from pen-tip slide,
spirit becomes fluid,
dreams become lucid,
secrets exposure,
deceptions enclosure,
words become wonder,
veils torn asunder,
dipped in dark waters,
to plunge in and plunder,
in rhythm,
in rhyme,
arise formless sublime,
taunted,
courted,
your chaos aligned.

Verticordia.
How I love thee.

You make the profane ... divine.

And my song and poetry would exist either.

There is a good exercise to increase your abilities in this respect.
That is to get two pieces of paper and the same sort of writing instrument ie: pencil of the same hardness, identical pens, same color inks, like that.
Write on your papers in mirror. If you are right handed, start by writing in the normal way while letting your left hand do the same in mirror. Then switch using left hand writing forward (normal direction) and letting your right hand to the mirror.
It takes a little practice but enables your non dominate hand to be more receptive.
Here's an example of doing the exercise as art on one piece of paper.
