Past Life Spread

My very close friend, with whom I have a deep spiritual connection with, and I have recently agreed on mutual feelings of being close in a past life. A couple weeks ago I came across a past life tarot spread for two and we decided to try it out. After an hour of deciphering the large spread (almost 30 cards!), we had managed to figure out the general idea:

In a past life when she was a child, someone had passed away and that had shaken the foundation of her and her family. I was more of a self reliant person due to how I was raised and had come into a fair sum of money. However I wanted to break away from that and be a vagabond. we had met due to feeling burdened and bound by family issues. We were either romantic partners or very close friends. She became more hardworking while I wanted to take things as they came. But as we grew older, our difference became more and more pronounced. I ended up "leaving", either emotionally or physically but she was determined to persevere. I grew more and more domineering while she gave too much of her time into me. I was judgmental of her despite wanting to fix things. I only thought of myself really. Then I had a breakthrough and things began managing to balance. But I became interested in material goods too much. I'm still not sure whether we died apart or together. It said that our shared karmic experiences involved her taking control of her life and me letting others take the reins

Honestly it was a hard pill to swallow. The thought that I was so abusive in a past life makes me feel sick. Can anyone perhaps give more insight/advice to this?

Something interesting that I read when studying Druidry (which I'm still doing. Haha. It's taking a long time!) was an interesting concept that I'm not sure is a druid-specific belief or simply a druid branch-specific belief.

Regardless, this was the idea:

We go through lives until we've been everything. Someone who has been poor, to someone who is rich. Someone who was sick, to someone who was the epitome of health. Then as you mentioned, someone who was abused and then someone who was the abuser.

The idea was that we go through life as everything and anything so that we may learn all the lessons the universe has to offer us before our souls finally rest peacefully and no longer come back.

I thought it an interesting concept, to be quite honest, and while I cannot help you with full insight or advice, I thought sharing this idea might be somewhat beneficial. Hopefully someone who has better knowledge on this sort of thing may help out.

This idea sits well with me for some reason. :)

Considering this all again, I think it that if this were the case, and everyone knew it and believed it, then they wouldn't really have much of a reason to change their actions. Every time I do something wrong I would just be like"oh this is my lifetime to be a A-hole..." So there has to be a way to opt out. Either by "being good", or enlightenment, or gnosis, or something. A way to not have to live out all the lives and skip right to the peaceful rest.

I thought the very same thing, Rosie! That's partly why I'm so drawn to druidry now. I read this part and I was like "...Yup. This is it. This is what I feel and think." I've never really thought too much into my ideas of the afterlife, despite being able to commune with the dead. I liked this idea. (: I'm glad it resonates well with you!

Though, I'm not sure. That'd be cheating the 'system' wouldn't it? Haha. I would imagine if something were to be a certain way and it was 'cheated', then things wouldn't go so well. But who knows? It's all left into theory as there's no solid facts one way or anther yet.

I don't know, I don't feel that it would be cheating because I feel like maybe enlightenment or gnosis or whatever you want to call it might be the goal. Like, maybe the point is to try to reach enlightenment and if you don't then you have to live out all the experiences of life. I'm imagining enlightenment would give you the understanding of those experiences without having to actually live them. But, that's just how I feel, who knows?
