Tarot Question (The World card)

Hey everyone, I started studying the Tarot not too long ago, and I've been doing daily one-card readings for myself, mostly to familiarize myself with the cards. I've been keeping track of the cards I've been pulling, and in my 20 one-card readings, I have drawn The World card three times. It was the first card I drew when I started the daily readings, and I've pulled it twice in a row -- yesterday and today. Both yesterday and today, I have been sort of agonizing over a situation (yesterday, I was worried that I had said something wrong while I was volunteering with the domestic violence crisis line; today, I've been concerned about disclosing the unprofessional behavior of someone I know to my colleagues).

From what I've read, the World card seems to be pretty positive ... I kind of get the feeling that it's trying to reassure me I'm doing the right thing (although of course I worry that that's not what it's trying to tell me, just what I want to hear), and it doesn't feel like a coincidence to me either. I would really appreciate any input y'all had on the subject. Thanks!! : )

I think that it very well could be reassuring you, Xiao.

One aspect of the World card is that it reinforces the need for growth and balance. It's the end of the Fool's journey through the Major Arcana. He's accomplished quite a bit, and while there's always more to learn, he's earned a time to take a breath and chill. So, yes, I think that's likely what this card is saying to you, and also probably giving you a nod for being responsible (well balanced) to yourself, your co-workers, and the victims you work with. You're doing a good job, and doing what you believe to be the right thing (growth). :)

"Take a breath and chill" --> advice that I always need to follow more often, haha : ) Thanks, Heartsong! That made me feel a lot better! (and yeah, when I mentioned it to a co-worker, she also seemed to think the behavior is pretty serious, so that was also nice).

Ha, I need to take that advice more often myself! I'm glad you feel better. :)

Hey Xiao! Great to hear you're learning the tarot lately!

Around this time when you kept drawing The World card, did you happen to pressure yourself into learning everything about the individual cards? If so, I believe the card is reminding you not to pressure yourself into this journey and to take things at a pace you can handle.

LOL yes, I totally was! I was starting this book about tarot studies and I wanted to fill in all the blanks as quickly as I could, but I've had to take a lot of breaks in the meantime (which bugs the heck out of the perfectionist in me!) I never thought about the World card in that way; thanks for the insight! (another thing which is going into my tarot book ; ) )

I know how you feel. I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself :-D I assumed this was what the card was telling you, granted that the Major Arcana is outlined in the Fool's Journey as Heartsong mentioned. And with the World (the final card) reappearing, I felt like it was reflecting your desire to reach the end of that journey too quickly :-D Perhaps you're too excited haha! That was why I advised you to take it slow, and not to rush ;-)
