Mirror tricking me?

So quite awhile ago I had an odd experience while getting ready for the day:
I was getting myself ready for the day infront of my mirror. Brushing my hair, makeup, all that. I stopped and checked my work and I looked straight into my eyes. At that moment I felt a certain shift. my eyes in the mirror were a blue- grey when they were supposed to be brown. The eyes than took on a more sinister look when they began to narrow slightly.
During that moment it felt like I was looking at a stranger. I didn't know about OBE yet so I didn't know how to describe how it felt at that moment. I literally didn't feel like I had a body or anything, just a spirit. After a couple of minutes I was able to release myself from the mirror.
After that I have avoided staring at myself in mirrors more than neccessary. If anyone has any idea what this might be I would LOVE to know! This has been bugging me alot lately.

P.S.- Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't quite sure where to post this

There's actually a similar post to this that I tried to help solve weeks ago. Lemme see if I can find it *looks up past topics*
I found this one: http://everythingunderthemoon.net/forum ... lit=mirror
I hope this helps a bit, it seems that this has happened to a few people on the boards.

Thanks ravencry that helped quite a bit. Do you think that was scrying? I have only tried that once and I didn't recieve anything. I was probably trying to hard then. If it was scrying, what do you think this was about? The whole situation is new to me.

In my opinion (it can vary from person to person) it can be that you wish you looked different, that you have a problem with your self esteem, or that someone is jealous of you. Now, all of them may not be true or one of them may be. Also, I've known a lot of Christians that have sometimes thought they saw what was their "evil selves" and took it as a warning from God.

I believe that the self esteem concept is very likely for me. But I had just remembered that during that time when I saw the reflection that Aphrodite came to mind. Nothing about her, just her name. I don't know if that has any significance to the matter or not.

It might, Aphrodite may have channeled into you. She may be the Goddess of love and beauty, but she is also a Goddess of self-love.

Thank you for all the information; it has a certain feel to it that makes me think I knew that Aphrodite was channeling me all along. But I needed someone to prove my claim I suppose. Anyway this deffinetly helped me! Do you know the best way to go about contacting her? My first thought would be meditation; but I'd be the first to admit I am not very good at it.

Meditation is great- but you can contact her through- as you know- mirrors. Dust the mirror with orris root powder or red rose powder, light a red candle, and look into the mirror and say
"Aphrodite, Goddess of love,
Goddess of the purest dove,
I ask this night come into me,
and show me all that I should see.
Join me and share is all I ask,
Show me what should be my task.
If you just wish to spare your time,
Just being with you will be just fine.
Harming none, do enter me,
Harming none, by the law of three.'

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed. Looks like I'm going to have to face my mirror again :D Oh well, it was a pathetic fear anyway. Thank you again!
