Hiya,
I was wondering if such a spell is possible to make it so you have more free time and are not as busy. Like not so much time manipulation as to like add more hours to the day, but simply to free up time from an otherwise very busy stressful schedule. One of my best friends is working himself to death between work and school and I'd love to work some magic and give him a break. And yes, pretty sure magic is the only way he is gonna get a break. He hasn't had a day off between work and school in 6 months. And I get that's probably normal for adults but he needs a break.

How do you feel about someone foisting their will on you?
Has he ever said anything like "I wish I had a break?

Yes, he hates it. He's always complaining about how exhausted he is and how he can't do anything ever.

Good. You wouldn't violate his will by working a clarity spell. He should be the one to make changes in his own life & he has to decide where and when to change. An imprecise spell for more free time could end with an injury forcing him off his feet, or a layoff.

I'd suggest a candle spell intending that he sees where & how to make his own cuts & that he can follow through.
